"Knock Knock!" I yell as I pound on Nitesha's door in the morning. Kisa and Irena
left really early this morning. They said that they won't need to sleep here anymore, because they had gotten a small house. "I want to look around this place!" I yell again.
From inside I hear a muffled "Coming, just let me get dressed quick."
"We're mermaids! We don't need to get dressed!" I reply.
"Oh yeah I that's right." She sighs.
We start off. This place is really weird. All of a sudden...
"Is it just me, or do those two guys over there look exactly like
Zane and Lewis?!" Nitesha whispered suspiciously. I gasped, and nodded. "Let's go look," She said. We slowly swam over.
"Hey, what's up?" Nitesha said in that weird voice. I think she likes Lewis. The two guys spun around. Once they saw us and recognized who we were, they tried to swim away. I remembered Oceana told me that Nitesha and I were speed swimmers.
"Cmon, let's go get them!" I yelled. We swam as fast as we could towards them, catching up quickly. "Where do you think you're going?" I scolded.
"Uh, we have to go to work," Zane said quietly.
"Oh. And what is that?" Nitesha queried.
"We are repairs men. We were just going to fix something."
"There was an invasion of three great white sharks about 20 minutes ago. Not many people got hurt, only two girls died, Iresa and Kina I think," Lewis piped in.
I gulped, sad. "Is there invasions often?"
"All the time!" Lewis exclaimed.
"I'm gonna go," Zane swam off.
"Lewis?" Nitesha said sweetly.
"Yes,"
"Do you want to go out with me?" Nitesha said nervously. I gaped. She liked Lewis?! I thought back to when she talked weirdly. And she did say he was cute, so... Whatevs. She beat me to him!!
Lewis turned bright red. "Uh, sure. Meet me at the coral bridge tomorrow at noon. Bye!" He called as he swam off.
"Any idea where the coral bridge is?" Nitesha asked me. I shook my head no. "It's getting late, we should get back." We quietly swim through the darkish water to our new home.
"Goodnight," we tell each other. As I enter my room, I suddenly wish that the window had blinds. That would be a project for tomorrow. Right before I fall asleep, I just happen to glance out my window, and see a pair of eyes staring at me. I start to get up, but they disappear immediately. Weird. I think about them as I fall asleep.
The next morning, I went over, and was about to knock on
Nitesha's door, when I found a little note taped on the bottom of my door. It said:
Mya,
Lewis stopped over, and picked me up early. I should be back before noon. If you need me, call me on the shell phone that Oceana gave you. See you soon.
I went to my room and grabbed my shell phone. Then I thought about it again, and decided not to call her. She is probably having fun with my crush anyway. TIME TO EXPLORE!! I darted out the door, and swam and swam. Faster and faster, farther and farther. I just wanted to clear myself of everything. All of a sudden, the current picked up. Then, an alarm went beep. Beep. Beep. Before I knew it, I was stuck by two mermaids with black tails and tops. They grabbed my arms, and swam me over to a big black door labeled stormy waters. I gulped. Oceana told me about these mer's.
