I blinked rapidly, trying to clear my vision. As my eyes came into focus, I realized I was in a large circular room. The room was made out of obsidian, with gold lining. The ceiling was a high some, with pictures of famous mer painted on it. It was very beautiful. I started to swim up, but couldn't! I saw a chain that was chaining my hands to my tail, and another chaining me to a sunken log. I remembered that the strange man told me only powerful mages could cure the dead, and I decided to try. I mean, who knows, maybe I am a powerful mage! I pushed away the crazy thoughts in my head. I just really wanted the queen to still be alive.

The newly dead queen,

Make her become a living marine!

Sirena, asleep, was also chained up on the other side of the room.

"Sirena! Sirena! Wake up!" I whispered, not wanting to be heard by anyone else. She didn't hear me.

This girl, she must arise

So make it my prize!

I said a lazy spell, only half hoping it would work, but it did. Apparently I didn't have to want it with all of my might! Sirena groggily sat up, went to rub her eyes, but realized her hands were chained.

"Wha-" she started to say.

"Shhh! I don't want anyone to hear us!" I whispered. She jerked her head towards me in a scared gesture.

"What? Stop looking at me like that!" I scolded. She focused her gaze on something behind me. I slowly turned around, and gasped when I saw seven mermen towering over me. I smiled shakily. One man reached over and sliced the chain holding me to the pole with a long sword. He repeatedly slices, until all of my chains are gone. I look up and see that one of the men with him is Lewis.

"Go get your sister and follow me!" He said instructively while pointing to Sirena. Dazed, I swim over to her and I realized that I needed his sword, so I turned around, but he was already coming over by Sirena.

"You were way too slow, so I decide to help you," Lewis says wearily. He wasn't quite to Sirena yet, so I quickly cast a spell to prove him wrong!

Remove the chains,

And free that mer from her pains

Immediately her chains fell to the floor!

"I'm sorry! You were way too slow this time, so I decided to help you," I mimicked Lewis as he threw a confused glance towards me. I smiled innocently as he glared at me. The troops that he had brought with him snickered.

As soon as we had started swimming, and I had time to think, a thought hit me

on the head like a brick. Why were Lewis and all these strange men taking us away?

"Umm... Excuse me. But do you mind telling me where we are going?" Sirena stole the words right out of my mouth!

"To your house. We needed to get you out of the palace, because you are now very important. We tied you up so you wouldn't swim away from the mer world." Says the man who is leading the line up. There is something about him that seems so familiar! The honey skin, dark hair, eyes, and tail... But who would he be? I haven't known any mermaids for that long.

"Your home, ladies," The merman says. He gestures to our mer house.

"Thanks. Oh, and I forgot to ask, what is your name?"

"Dominique." He says as he slowly swims away. That is one of my biggest pet peeves ever, when someone turns their back to me and talks and expects me to understand them!

"What?" I say, sounding confused.

"Ricky. Just call me Ricky," The mer says. Then he abruptly swims away.

"Hey Sirena? Why don't we both go inside, grab some food, and meet back out here to eat together," I say.

"Okay. There is somethings we need to talk about too."

"Uhh, yeah. OK." I say not sure what we need to talk about.

****

"So," I say, mouth full. "What did we need to talk about?"

"If I tell you, you can't tell anyone!"

"Ok," I didn't know that she had any secrets that I didn't know. It kind of hurts. I shrug it off, besides, she's telling me now right? And I am kind of keeping secrets from her too. I'll have to tell her.

"Thanks sis! You're not going to believe it." She stops to take a bite of shrimp.

"Continue," I say motioning with my hand that someone is behind her.

"Oh, well, ya know, I saw a dolphin today!" She says, taking the hint.

"Um, I don't mean to interrupt this lovely sisterly bonding time, but I was

wondering if you would want to hang out Sirena?" Lewis swims up behind Sirena. I never noticed this but I guess I don't really like Lewis anymore. I like Zane! I almost choke at the thought.

"Sure!" Sirena's voice snaps me back to the present. "I'll meet you at the west pavilion in an hour!" No Sirena. You were telling me secrets! She swims inside and Lewis swims away. Ugh! Sometimes sisters don't really get along once one gets a boy

"Sirena?" I knock on her door.

"Come in," she says from behind the door. I walk in, and she is floating in front of her wardrobe in a tank top, fretting over clothes. "What do you think I should wear!?"

"Anything. Lewis won't care." Realistically speaking that is.

Sirena turns in front of the mirror.

"Hey, what was that secret you wanted to tell me?" I ask as she braids her hair.

"Oh, nothing much. I just stumbled across a castle and as soon as I swam in someone died, and then everyone screamed. Shortly after that it got really bright, and then dark again. Probably just a dream."

I silently gasp. She was there when I was training with the queen with the black tail! OMTF(Oh My Tail Fin) Now I can't tell her about it!

"Gotta go, bye!" Sirena says, then gives me a quick hug and leaves. Well then I guess I can't tell her about the bond thing that queen Nikki told me. I will have to tell her later.

Knock. Knock. "Zayn? Are you in here?" I pound on a door that I hope is Zayn's. I

saw him swim in a while ago, but who knows?
