Almost half of the day today i was lying in bed, thinking about that day.

I was sleeping peacefully dreaming about my birthday party i would have when i got home from school and all the joy it would bring me and my family. My alarm woke me up, so i went to the bathroom and got dressed and ready for school. I knocked on Johnny's door and said "Wake up and get ready, i don't want you making me late again." Grabbing my backpack, and walking down stairs, there was a bad environment. Usually the smell of bacon, coffee..and just pure joy would fill the air, all the lights would be on, the sound of the news would be coming from the living room. I would hear my mother singing along to the radio in the kitchen as she cooks. Father would be reading the newspaper sitting at the table watching mother cook out of the corner of it eye. Johnny would usually be awake playing with his cars on the floor, but sometimes he would sleep in and I'd have to wake him up. When i was at the top of the stairs before i could have a clear view of the kitchen and living room, there was an eerie silence, and there was a bitter smell filling my lungs. There was only one light on, and it was a dim night light from inside the kitchen that was flickering. I cautiously took a few steps forward and saw the worst scene i could ever experience in my life. I saw my father's body lying on his back and my mother's body  resting on top of his, there was blood surrounding them and blood on the counters there was a frying pan in my mom's hand with blood on it. I saw a man holding my younger brother i one arm, no marks on Johnny our parents blood staining his clothes, he was just...unconscious. That man... He looked crazy...psycho......insane. I was frozen in place, i couldn't move, i couldn't scream, i could barley breathe. The night light flickered a couple times then went out, and i heard foot steps out of the house. It was completely dark out because of the thunderstorm that went through most of the night and this morning. I fell to my knees, but lost my balance on the stairs and fell down them hitting my head on a wall by the living room. It seemed like years later but i eventually woke up, to the sounds of sirens. I sat up and saw white sheets over my mother and father's bodies. A woman had a white sheet in her arms, and she turned around from talking to a police officer and screamed. "This one is still alive." I rubbed my eyes and looked around once again. "T-this, isn't...a dream?!"  The last thing i remember of that day was being carried out on a stretcher and transported to the hospital, where they bandaged my head and questioned me. Just thinking about everything, and knowing Johnny might still be out there drives me crazy. Deep  down inside of me i have a fire starting to burn that drives a hate larger and stronger than anything. I always wondered why am i still alive? What is my purpose? Do i even belong here? Why couldn't have been me instead of Johnny?! Now i know what my purpose is and what i must do. I will do anything and everything to find that man, and save my brother, even if it kills me.
