Claire's POV:
"Claire.." Someone whispered softly. I turned around and saw Kayden.
"Hey" I mumbled.
"It's 2 in the afternoon. So I thought I should wake you." He smiled.
"Is it Monday?" I asked.
"Yeah."
"Shit I have class today." I jumped out the bed and grabbed my keys, running down the stairs.
I reached for the doorknob until someone pulled me by my waist from behind.
"Don't leave." He said, putting his head on my shoulder.
"But I have cla-" I was interrupted by the door opening.
Jeffrey stepped in, with a serious look on his face.
"Very cute." He said sternly. He yanked me to him by my arm. "Let go." I pushed.
"Do you even remember anything about last night?" I called.
"You make me sick. Both of you!" I screamed. Then shut the door behind me.
All the way back I sobbed.
I unlocked the door and pulled out my suitcase. Packing my stuff. I decided I wanted to go back home and clear my head. I can't del with this crap.
Jeffrey a couple minutes later came running in.
"What are you doing?" He said out of breath.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" I shot.
"Where are you going?!" He yelled.
"Home."
"What? No Claire please sto-"
"I'm done okay? I can't deal with all of this anymore. I just want to die.." I trailed off.
"Claire don't say that." He choked out.
"This whole mess is my fault. It always has been and I'm sorry I've made your life a living hell. At this point your the only thing that I have! My parents are assholes, my sisters a liar, my family members don't want me because they fear of me. Your the only person that's always been there for me. Your the reason why I'm still here!!" He yelled. Tears were rolling down his cheeks.I reached out my arms and he pulled into a hug. We laid down on the bed and he sobbed into my chest. I felt really bad.
"Don't cry." I said. He kept sobbing into my chest as if he'd never heard me.
After a while he calmed down and looked up at me. I wiped his tears away and kissed his forehead.
"I'm sorry." He whispered.
"It's not your fault Jeffrey. Stop telling yourself that. I love you." I whispered.
"Love you too." He smiled.
"My father always looked down on me. Anything I did would be a complete failure to him. All of this was before my parents separated. But even after, things became worse. He sent me death threats if I didn't do what he said most of the time. So when they separated, me and my mom went away to here. Somehow my sister lived here too. And my dad.. I actually don't know where he is right now. And I hope it stays that way." I finished.
"But your not a failure." He said.
I looked down at him and smiled. "Maybe to you."
"Your dad is an idiot." He added. I laughed and stroke his cheek.
"I honestly don't want to go home, but I know in holidays I have to. Which is in like.. 1 week for thanksgiving." I rolled my eyes.
"I'll go with you." He said.
"Don't you want to visit your old friends or something?" I asked.
"I could care less about them. They were are dicks."
I laughed at his response. "Okay."
