Jeffrey's POV:
It had been 10 hours since they pulled in Claire in the hospital. I was bored out of my mind and stress was overwhelming me.
I sighed as I picked up a magazine and read out of it.
"Jeffrey Slade?" A voice called. I looked up to see the same doctor I spoke to about Claire's condition. I walked up to him and waited for what he had to say.
"Claire is fine. But she hurt her left wrist, so she needs to take it easy on that or it will break. Also she hit her head pretty hard so she'll have constant headaches. Other than that she's fine."
I sighed a sigh of relief. "Can I see her?" I asked. He nodded and led me to her room.
Claire's eyes lit up when she saw me. I smiled and ran over to her. "Hey" she whispered. "Thanks for saving me. Means a lot."
I nodded as she scooted over and gestured me to sit next to her. I sat there and laid my head on her shoulder as we intertwined our hands together. Then I fell asleep.
~~~~~
Claire's POV:
"Hurry I want to go home." I whined. Jeffrey was taking forever thanking the doctors.
We hopped in the car and I rolled my window down to breathe some fresh air. All week the only thing I smelled were the chemicals from the medicine.
I unlocked the dorm room and my eyes widened at what I was looking at.
"Jesus Jeffrey! It's a mess in here!" I yelled.
Chip bags were everywhere with piles of clothes and Jeffrey's messy bed. Most of his belongings were everywhere and even near my bed side.
"Oops" he said.
I sighed and threw all his stuff to his side. Then I plunged to the bed and laid on my back. I starred at the ceiling when I remembered everything from before.
My brother was still in the hospital, and the police were under investigation for the girl. He hasn't woken up so the doctors are about to call it a coma. Why is this going on now?
I sighed deeply. "You alright?" Jeffrey asked. I couldn't hold back much longer. I curled up into a ball as I sobbed into my legs. "No.." I cried.
"Hey hey... What's going on?" He said. He knelt down next to me and placed his hand on my cheek.
"Nothing" I sniffed. "I'm alright I mean."
I got up and walked toward the bathroom. Until I felt a hand wrap around my wrist and a sharp pain shot at me.
I sat on the ground as I looked at my wrists. More tears streaming down. "Oh my god sorry I forgot" Jeffrey said.
"It's okay" I sniffed.
I walked over to my bed and sat down on the edge sighing deeply. I don't know what's going on with me. I feel so stressed out about everything and I don't want to deal with it anymore.
"Are you sure your okay?" He asked. I looked up at him and sighed. "I don't know. I just feel weird. But I think I'm fine" I said. Though I knew I wasn't.
~~~~~~~
I woke up as I felt something shift beside me then on top of me. I rubbed my eyes and groaned.
"Morning sleepy head" Jeffrey chuckled. I laughed a little as I opened my eyes. "What time is it?" I asked.
"11:30 am"
I gasped and looked around the room. "Shoot I slept in. We have class today!" I said. I tried to get out of Jeffrey's arms but he had both hands beside my shoulders. Pinning me to the bed.
"It's fine it's just one day missing."
"No Jeffrey, I can't just miss class like this. I wanted a perfect attendance score." I whined. He chuckled and leaned down as he kissed my neck. Hitting my sweet spot. I moaned softly as I ran my hands threw his soft hair.
"I love you" he said. It was the first time he's ever said that to me I believe. But it meant a lot to me. "I love you too" I replied.
We starred at each other for a few moments before I went under his right arm and off the bed running to the restroom shutting the door behind me. I looked down and noticed I was only in my underwear and a loose white tank top.
"Jeffrey?" I yelled.
"What"
"How come I'm only in my underwear?" I looked down one more time before preparing myself to punch him.
"You fell asleep in the restroom for some reason, you were sweating so I thought I would help you out." He yelled.
"Oh.." I replied. I took off my clothes and hopped in the shower.
*flashback*
(Jeffrey's POV)Why is Claire taking so long? It's been an hour since she walked in there. I feel really bad for hurting her wrist that way.
I continued to look threw my social media until I heard a loud thump. "Claire?" I yelled. Hoping to hear something. Nothing.
"Claire?" I asked a little louder. Still nothing. I set down my laptop and opened the door. Claire was laying on the floor on her back. In her hands were pills. I took the bottle and read them. They were pain killers. I glanced over to Claire then I realized what she did. She over did her pills.
"No no no" I repeated and lifted Claire's heads gently. "Honey, please wake up." I said. I could see a dried stream of tears on her face. Why did she do this? She told me she was okay.
I didn't realize I had been crying until I choked up for air. I picked Claire up bridal style and set her on her bed. She still had a pulse so maybe she knocked out.
Ten minutes had passed and I looked over to Claire and saw she was extremely sweaty. I walked over and took her jeans off, hoping I wouldn't wake her and she would think the wrong way.
While folding up her jeans, I looked at the clock and noticed it was 10. I put my pajamas on and crawled next to Claire and fell fast asleep.
*end of flashback*
(Back to Claire's POV)I got out of the shower and changed into a light pink tank top with white shorts. I blowed dried my hair and curled the ends a little bit.
"Where you going beautiful?" Jeffrey asked as he eyed me up and down. "The beach, just to clear my head." I smiled softly and blew him a kiss. "Call me if you need anything." He smirked.
I honestly don't know what to do. I don't remember anything that happened last night and my wrist was still hurting. I'm always feeling extremely let down.
I parked my car and walked down the pier, then up to the next level.
I walked around for a bit before stopping and leaning on the railing. I looked down and it was really really high facing the street with passing cars. I sighed and climbed up the railing.
"Ma'am get down from there! You'll fall over and get yourself killed!" A man yelled. I glanced over at him and that apparently caught people's attention by his yelling. I kept climbing up until I was at the very top. I could hear yells everywhere and people telling me to get down. I took my phone out of my pocket and threw it at the floor. The man caught it and started doing something on my phone. I looked out the sunset and prepared myself to jump.
