The Goddess' Daughter(On hold)

Chapter One

"Artemis! Come down here!" my mother, Jane Knight, screamed. 

"Yes Momma!" I screamed back, opening my door. 

I use my alpha speed to get down to the kitchen from the highest floor and reach the door of the kitchen. When I open the door, people jump out of everywhere screaming "Surprise" and sending my jumping backwards. 

"Haha, happy birthday baby sister!" Apollo, my older twin brother, said, throwing an arm around my shoulder. 

"Apollo, I'm your twin so I'm not a baby." I said, almost growling. 

"You are, you're sixteen and haven't shifted, you're suppose to shift at midnight last night." he said. 

"Apollo!" my father, James Knight, growled. 

That statement shook my core and I lower my face to hide my misty eyes. I feel Apollo look at me then he covers his mouth. 

"Shit! I'm so sorry Artemis." he said. 

"Its okay." I mumbled, moving away from him. 

I quickly grab a muffin and run out side before anyone can stop me. 

'Athena, come on let's go to school.' I said through a mind-link to my best friend. 

'Coming.' she send back. 

In seconds, she appears in front of me in her cherry red Chevrolet Camaro and I slip in. Once I close the door, I burst into tears and Athena leans over and wrap her lean arms around my slumped shoulders. 

"It's going to be okay, you're brother is just being a dumb ass again." she said. 

I nod and start to wipe up all my tears. When I'm done, I look at her and smile. She smiles back and starts to drive to our school.

I bounce out of Athena's car with my usual happiness and grab my bag out of the car. Athena links her arm with mine and we skip to the front office to get our schedule for this new school year.  

"Names?" the lady at the desk said. 

"Artemis Knight and Athena Nighting." I said. 

The lady type our names and prints out our schedule. She hands it to us and we thank her. We stand to one side to see what classes we have together when my brother's scent wash all over us as he nears. 

"What do you want you, ass?!" Athena growled. 

"I just wanna know what classes my baby sister has." he said, snatching mine and Athena's schedule out of our hands. 

"You have first, third, fifth, and seventh with both me and Athena. You have second and sixth with Athena and just fourth with me. And we all have lunch together." he said, hand us our schedule. 

I just snatched it back as I growl and take Athena's hand, nearly dragging her to first period. We make our way to the back of the class and sit when a strong scent of forestry engulf my nose. I snap my head up and see everyone staring at the guy coming in. They stare at him like how you will when you see an unmated alpha. He didn't scan the room like a normal alpha in a new place with many other werewolves around, he just stare back at me, with a strange look. I shrug it off and he turns to the teacher.

Axel P.O.V

"I'm sorry sir, I enter the wrong class." he said, leaving. 

I walk down the empty halls, thinking about that girl.  

'How did she not know we're mates? Didn't she feel or smell it?' I thought. 

'Maybe she hasn't shifted yet.' my wolf, Solar, said. 

'But that look she gave me and they way she just shrugged it off, didn't it hurt you?' I said. 

'Yes but I don't know maybe we can follow her home and see.' he said.  

I nod and enter my first class.

Lunch time rolls around and I quickly get out of my class. I try to make my way to the lunchroom to see if that girl has it too but all these slutty werewolf cheerleaders get in my way trying to get my attention. 

'Being an unmated alpha is difficult.' I thought. 

I feel my wolf shrug and I dodge everyone coming my way. When I get outside, the strong scent of sweet fruity smell of the cattleya orchid, the scent I smelled this morning, and I look around frantically. Then, I see her sitting in an apple tree with a girl and a guy. Those three look well hidden in that tree if it wasn't for her scent, I would never had found her. I quietly hide and use my alpha hearing to eves drop on the three. 

"Hey, Art, I'm sorry about this morning." the guy, I've notice is Apollo Knight, said. 

"It's okay Ap." my soon to be mate said, laughing. 

I watch Apollo smile at MY mate and then pull her into a hug, and kiss her on the head and I growled softly. It must had been loud because my mate heard it and turn and stare at my hiding spot. She didn't look away till the bell rings. I watch Apollo jump down and help the two girls down then the girls went running to class and Apollo come over to my hiding spot.

"Alpha Axel, why are you spying on me and some of my pack members?" Apollo asked, standing in front of me. 

"Apollo, you touch my mate again, I'll tear you to shreads." I growled. 

He stares at me wide eyed and then smiles. 

"So you're my twin sister's mate." he said. 

"Twin sister? You two look nothing a like." I said, confused. 

"She's adopted but don't tell anyone or her, she doesn't know yet and we like to keep it that way. But you should know about my twin sister." he said, winking. 

I stand there, thinking it over then it finally dawns over me. 

"She's the Artemis Knight?! The one who took care of those rouges?!" I asked, amazed. 

"Yeah, she didn't even need her big brother's help." he replied, smiling. 

"Anyways, you're her mate, huh? you have to excuse her be so oblivious to the whole mate thing. she hasn't shifted yet. It should be tonight that she'll shift. But before then, you should come today after school to her, or "our" sweet sixteen." Apollo said, putting air quotes around the words, 'our'. 

"Okay, can we keep this a secret? Till she shifts?" I said. 

Apollo nods then runs to class. 

'So our little mate is the famous Artemis Knight.' my wolf said. 

'This will be fun.' I said back. 

I smile as I head to class.
