After talking and a few drinks and laugh, Monica was telling Shanti bye and heading home. Turning down Cartwright, she hooked her cellphone up to the car and played a few Rich Homie Quan songs. The ride home had her thinking, why was Jordan acting funny all of a sudden ….and it had been 3 months and Devon was still trying to talk to her. Pulling into the apartment gates she parked and headed into the house. Unlocking the door she walked in but all the lights were off in the front room. Heading into the bedroom the TV was on but Jordan was laid across the bed knocked out. Heading into the restroom she locked the door and got in the shower. Just as she was cutting the shower off, Jordan started knocking at the door
“What!” Monica called out, stepping out the shower and drying off
“Baby I just want to talk” Jordan said
From the sounds of it, Monica wasn’t the only one who had been drinking, wrapping up her hair she slid on a long T-shirt and opened the door. Jordan was leaning on the door and fell forward towards her; she pushed him back and climbed in bed
“Why are you drunk” Monica asked looking at him, he was wobbling back and forth walking towards the bed
“I’m grown last time I checked” Jordan slurred and layed by Monica
“Well since you so grown, we don’t have anything to talk about “Monica said turning her back towards him
“You better talk to me!” Jordan said grabbing her shoulder and turning her towards him
“Let go of me Jordan that shit hurt” Monica said moving his hands . but instead he turned and grabbed her and placed himself on top of her, holding his hands real tight around her neck
“You love me !” He asked
“Jordan get off of me! “ Monica shouted, fighting him off her, they begin to fight all in the bed Jordan would not loosen up his grip on her. She bit his arm and he yelled letting go of her, soon as she was about to run out the bedroom he caught her by the leg and she fell to the floor. Monica started kicking but, he just wrapped his arms around her legs tight
“Jordan let go of me “Monica begin to cry
“No because, I love you” Jordan said pulling himself up to her ear , he moved the hair from the side of her neck and kissed her face , but she moved and still shouted
“Let me go now!” Monica yelled
“Alright but, just don’t do anything stupid Mo”
Jordan let go of Monica and walked to the front door and left. Monica laid there on the floor, curling up into a ball she begins to cry hard and those tears turned into anger. Pulling herself up from the floor she, went into the bedroom and called her sister.
“Whitney I need to stay with you for a few days” Monica sobbed as her sister answered the phone
“Mo, what’s wrong ….. What’s going on” Her sister asked, her voice was worried with confusion
“It’s Jordan, I don’t know what’s wrong with him but I don’t have time for all this “Monica said shaking her head and standing up to grab some bags and begin to pack
“Well sure you can come, just pack for the rest of the week since we going out Friday and Saturday as well”
“Alright I’ll be coming tomorrow after work”
“just call me and let me know, be safe tonight mo”
“I will” Monica said hanging up the phone. She finished packing her bags and left out the apartment and walked to her car to put her bags in her trunk she didn’t know where Jordan went and she did not care. Walking back into the house she decided to sleep in the living room , but this time she had a knife sleeping in her hand. All she could think about in her sleep was, who was this stranger living with her never in the years her and jordan had been together had he ever put his hands on her.
Jordan never returned that night, the next morning Monica returned the knife to the kitchen and begin getting ready for work. When she walked out the restroom there were roses and bears all over the front room of the apartment and a big card sitting on the table, but no sign of Jordan. Monica walked over to the card, it was an apology from Jordan, and she threw the card down. Grabbing her purse and keys she walked out the house. Pulling through the apartment gates her cellphone started to go off, looking at the lock screen it read “Babe”, and ignoring the phone call she turned her music up and headed to work. Clocking in she had to work the top floor today, taking a seat at her desk she begin to start her day, a part of her was still tired from last night.
“Excuse me miss my father’s room needs more sheets” Came a voice, Monica looked up from the computer screen a young girl no older than 16 was standing before her
“Alright, go down to the hall and make a right there should be someone there to help you” Monica said
“Thanks” the girl said before walking off
