Chapter 17

The thunders were heard loudly and clearly. I stretched my arms up in the air as Ethan's mother came out of the kitchen with a worried look. 

"Girls, they're saying that there will be very heavy rain tonight and are saying to stay inside for now." She pointed at the television screen in the kitchen and informed us.

Beth glared at me narrowing her eyes, but then quickly became normal.

"It's not my fault," I said in a hushed tone.

"Sure genius..."

After a while Mrs Parker came back again. "Okay, so you guys will not be able to go outside as there might be some flooding and so they've blocked the road. There will be a lot of heavy rain so it would be dangerous to go outside."

"What are we going to do now?" Beth sighed.

"Well... you girls could stay here tonight!" Mrs Parker exclaimed.

"No-no Mrs. Parker we really shouldn't be a bother to you, we'll just- just look for a cab or bus.." I said.

"Girls," Mrs. Parker cut me off, "as I've said, it is too dangerous for anyone to be outside now. I'm definitely not letting you girls go outside. Just stay here for the night, I'm pretty sure school will be cancelled for tomorrow. You guys can go back to your home safely tomorrow! Just let your parents know- I can talk to them if you want."

I sighed. There's no one to care about me so I could stay anyways. 

I could feel Beth and Ethan's eyes on me. I turned around to give them a reassuring smile and shrugged. They smiled back.

"Woohoo school will be surely cancelled tomorrow," Beth exclaimed, averting the subject at hand.

Mrs. Parker smiled at us, "You girls can share the guest room," she said and left the room.

Evan was drumming his fingers on the couch, "Hmm, I'm bored, do you guys want to watch a movie?"

"Yeah sure! Horror please!" Beth requested.

Bethany and I were both huge horror movies' fans. We both loved watching it, even if it scared us to death. I always loved the anticipation and thrilling feel it gave me. So I always definitely enjoyed watching a horror film.

"Hahaha, no way," Evan replied.

"Why are you scared?" Beth raised her eyebrows.

"No, Maybe, I just don't like horror films."

"Well horror it is." Beth stated. "Ethan do you have any good horror films?"

Evan whined, "No why, please lets watch something romantic!" But everyone ignored him.

We all settled in front of the huge television with blankets and pillows as Beth chose a movie from netflix. We prepared some popcorn and even got some drinks.

Beth chose a horror movie which we both haven't seen before, and the reviews were good as well. Beth and I settled in the middle with Evan and Ethan to our sides.
