Chapter seventeen

Michael's P.O.V

When Luke and I went driving around trying to find Ash, We drove by a pier uptown, And we could make out a figure in the little lighting we had.

"Luke, Stop the car." I said.

"Why? Do you see something?" Luke asked.

"Not something, Someone. It could be Ash." I said.

Luke stopped the car and we walked slowly over to the figure and when we approached it, We found him.

"Ash? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I can't do this. I can't do this." Ash kept whispering the same thing over and over.

"Ash, You're kinda scaring me. Of course you can do this. If not for your self, Do it for Emily. She's your daughter, You can't leave her. She needs you, Just as much as you need her." I said.

"She's better off without me. Everyone is. Sara wouldn't have left me if there wasn't something wrong. So there has to be something wrong. She was perfectly fine with us going on tour, She was supporting me and my carrier, She knew how much this band means to me, And how much I wanted to have you guys fulfill your dreams too. She could've came along on tour, She could've told me before I married her that this kind of life wasn't for her. She could've saved me the heartache."

I didn't know what to say, I was too caught up in trying to get Ash off that ledge.

"Ash, I know this is hard. Trust me, I don't blame you for feeling this way, But please, Can you get off the ledge? I don't want you to hurt yourself." I said.

"Too late." Ash said.

Before anyone could even do anything, Ashton jumped. All we heard was the splashing of water, but no sign of Ashton.

"Calum! Call an ambulance! I think I found Ash! He's not moving and I doubt he's breathing." I said.

"I'm on it, Get him out of the water!" Cal yelled.

"Ashton, Ashton! Can you hear me? Hey, Wake up! Ash!" I kept yelling at him and shaking him, But got nothing. No breathing, No moving, No noise. Just silence.

"The ambulance is here!" Cal yelled.

"What happened here?" The paramedic asked.

"My friend here, He jumped off the bridge and now he's not breathing." I said.

"Did anyone try and stop him?" The paramedic asked.

"We did, But it was too late when we approached him." I said.

"I see, I'm going to load him up and we'll see what we can do on the way to the hospital. Okay?" She said.

"Okay, I'll call my family and have them meet us here." I said.

"Does he have a wife, a girlfriend? She asked.

"Um, Well he had a wife, But she left him. That's what brought him here." I said.

"Oh, I see. Okay meet us at the hospital." She said and drove off.

"I'm going to call Rachel and have her bring the rest down here." I said.

"Okay, I'll drive then." Cal said.

"Rachel! We found Ash, And we're heading to the hospital. We need you to bring everyone down here, Okay?" I said.
