Molly's P.O.V
Seven years later
"Ready, Daddy?" I asked.
"Where did the time go? I mean you're graduating today. You'll be off to collage soon, I don't want my baby girl to leave me." Daddy said.
"Oh, C'mon daddy. I'll still be around for the summer. It's just the graduation today." I said.
"I know, But you're supposed to stay my little girl. Not this eighteen year old woman." Daddy said.
"Daddy, No matter what, I'll all ways be your little girl you adopted twelve years ago." I said while giving him a hug.
"I know baby, But dad's have a hard time with this stuff." He said.
"I know, But hey! You still have Hailey to watch. She's only eleven!" I said.
"True, Okay. We should head to the school. Don't wanna be late." Daddy said.
As we were walking out the door, I stopped and looked at all the family pictures we had hanging up on the wall and I thought to myself, How did I end up here? In such a great home, With hardly any drama, Two amazing parents, Two sweet, Fun siblings, And amazing uncles. I never would've imagined this when I was six. I'm so happy Michael adopted me when he did. Other wise I wouldn't be where I'm at today.
The graduation ceremony went by fast me me and Casey were so glad to finally step out of high school. It was a long and stressful road, But we finished it. But now, There's only the rest of our lives ahead of us.
Casey and I are going to the same collage together and we're even taking the same classes. We both wanted to help out kids. So we decided to do become teachers. This will be a fun journey for us to take.
"I now congratulate the class of 2016 for finishing high school!" Our principal said while we threw up our hats. I couldn't believe we were done with high school. But I'm glad we did.
........................
"Shall we get our stuff into our apartment?" Casey asked.
"Let's do it!" I said.
"Girls, Just know you all ways have a home to come back too. Mom and I will always be there for you if you need us. Okay?" Daddy said.
"I know, Daddy. Thank you for everything. I love you so much." I said.
"I love you too, Baby. Have fun decorating this place!" Daddy said while walking out the door.
"He seems very emotional." Casey said.
"Yeah, But he's happy for us. But wow. I can't believe we're moved out. It feels great!" I said.
"I know! I can't wait to decorate this place and have friends over. It'll be great!" Casey said.
"Me too! I'm going to set some things up in my room, Okay?" I said.
"Okay! I'll be getting things set up here in the living room." Casey said.
I took my boxes to my room and took out the photo albums and looked at them.
I laughed at some of them, And I even felt myself tear up. I can't believe how much time has passed. But the one picture that got me the most was when I was eight, Daddy and I were at the park playing our guitars and singing. Daddy looked so happy in this photo. That was the day I felt like I belonged in this family. Daddy was so proud that I was taking after him and learning the guitar, and I even remember the song we played together. "Ready, Set, Don't go." By Billy Ray Cyrus. I think daddy was trying to say to me that I should never leave him. But deep down he knew eventually I'd have to move out. I know this must be hard for him, But I have a great idea for when I see him again.
I was interrupted by my phone ringing and when I saw it was daddy I smiled.
"Hi daddy, Miss me all ready?" I teased.
"Yes, But I was looking through a photo album and I found a picture of you and I at a park, playing our guitars and I was just thinking we should both record is singing a song one day." Daddy said.
"Funny, Because I was doing the same thing, And thinking the same thing. Do you want to do that?" I asked.
"I'd love too. How about next week?" Daddy asked.
"Sounds great! Daddy, I love you!" I said.
"Awe, I love you too baby girl. Have fun!" He said and hung up.
"Why are you all happy?" Casey asked.
"I talked to my dad and he wants me to play a few songs with him next week. We haven't done that in so long." I said.
"Awe, Cute!" Casey said.
"Yeah, Well I'm tired. I'm gonna get some sleep. Night!" I said and walked upstairs to my room.
I can't wait to play again with dad, He and I always made up funny songs and tunes when we played together. I know his will make him happy, And it'll make me happy to see him happy. That's all that matters to me, That my family stays happy.
