Niall for Megan.
"Megan! Turn that racket down." My dad pounds on the door of my bedroom.
"Aw! But this is the good bit!" I jump on my bed higher.
"Megan, I'll get you to turn it off if you don't turn it down." He warns and I wine jumping off of my bed and walking over to my docking station and turn down 5 Seconds Of Summer till I can barely hear it.
"Better?" I mouth off and my dad hums and walks off.
I roll my eyes and turn the volume back up a little. "Heartbreak girl, hold you tight straight through the day light, I'm right here, when you gonna realize, that I'm your cure, heartbreak girl." I sing along and start up my air guitar again.
By the time the song ends and is replaced by Try Hard, I'm tired from jumping around. I lye down on my bed panting. I turn on my side to watch out my french doors that open up from my bedroom to my small balcony.
I look out onto the farm landscape. Hills in the distance and a long stretch of died land that belongs to my family. It goes on for miles and miles and I love riding my horse, Buckel, over it. We ride so fast on the flat, it's amazing.
That's when I see him.
Niall.
He's one of the workers on our farm. We have about six extra workers on our farm because it's so big. But Niall is the only one I've ever taken an extra interest in. I sit up from my bed and walk over to the glass doors. Looking down at him from my second story height.
Niall's blonde hair stood out from the rest of the guys he stood with. His tanned arms tensed as they rested on his hips. I remember when he first got here, he had been quite pale, but since he'd been working long days in the sun in summer, he'd tanned up like the rest of us.
I lean close to the window to get a better look, not realizing I was already as close as I could get I smack my head against the glass, and the french doors shake with the contact.
"Owch." I moan and rub my forehead. When I look back down at the group of workers, my eyes meet those of a perfect blue. A deep ocean blue. My mouth falls into a perfect O and my heart beats double time at being caught spying.
Niall's lips pull up into a perfect smirk before I step back from the doors till he can't see me.
I face palm myself at how embarrassing I can be. Of course he'd see me hit my head while spying on him.
At least it wasn't as embarrassing as that time when I tried to jump off the swing in the tree out back, an attempt to show off in front of him. Lame, for a sixteen year old, I know, but it seemed cool at the time. Anyway I jumped and got caught in the chain, and it dragged me back along the dirt as it swung back.
It was totally embarrassing. But he had run over as soon as I hit the ground and helped me.
Then of course there was that time at dinner. It might not seem as big to other people but the smallest things can turn me beetroot red. I had strategically placed myself next to him at the table, about half way through dinner I got thirsty so I took my glass and started drinking. Only for Niall to nudge me and tell me that I was drinking his drink.
"Megan, we need your help." I hear my dad call out.
I walk over and open my door. "Huh?" I ask him.
"There's a fence down near the water hole, and some cattle have got loose. We need your help to round them up and fix the fence. Get your boots on." He informs me before walking back down the stairs.
I sigh. I hate having to work. I shuffle my feet over to where my riding boots are. And pull them up. I don't bother changing out of my denim short shorts and white singlet. I'll probably get too hot outside anyway.
