I watch the water distort her beautiful face and steadily keep my camera taking every photo. Laila has been my closest friend for all of my life. She has always been there for me and no matter what I'll always be there for her. She's become more and more to me as the years have gone on and all I want is for her to be mine but I can't say a word to her, I know how she thinks of me and I know it's only platonic love but I wish it could be more. The water has all collected on the floor of the kiddy pool now, she opens her eyes and her bright blue irises look into my own grey ones. There's something about her.

"Well, how did they come out," she asks me.

"I don't know yet, silly," I say to her while smiling, hoping she will smile back at me and light up my world with happiness once more, "I'm sure they came out stunning, I mean they are photos of you."

She blushed and smiled and in that moment, I swear the entire world just stopped and basked in her beauty. Her goddess-like aura. She lifted herself from the stool she has been sitting on and walked over to behind the camera with me.

I opened up the photos, they were as amazing as I had expected. Her face had an expression of pure bliss.

"Beautiful."

She looked up to me and smiled once more. That smile will be the death of me.
