*Voltflare's POV*

My eyes are not able to process the events that happen next. Two large portals appear in the sky, a pink one to my right, and a blue one to my left. Out of the left emerges a massive blue sauropod with light blue veins pulsating along its navy frame. A large array of fins rises from its back, and its head is covered in a thick armor, encapsulating two red spheres that appear to be aged with time. A metallic chest plate adorns the Pokemon's front, bearing a blue gem that shines like its veins. The beast descends to the ground with a mighty roar that shakes the very foundation of Spear Pillar. Something tells me that, whatever this behemoth of a Pokemon is, it is much stronger than anything I've ever seen before.

I turn my attention to the other portal, which opens and bequeaths its own Pokemon- a thereopod bearing a striking resemblance to the first titanic Pokemon. Large magenta veins dance across the Pokemon's lavender skin, surging with power. Two large arms unsheath their massive claws, and a glow emanates from each of them. Two lustrous pink pearls, sealed into the creature's tendons, pulse with a warm glow that distorts the very air around me and makes it extremely hard to breathe. This second Pokemon, too, threatens to collapse Spear Pillar with its mighty roar.

I gasp for air, but Cyrus raises his arms to the sky in triumph.

"Now is time to start anew! Now is the dawn of my new, perfect world! Dialga and Palkia, together! Unraveling the very fabric of time and space! I can feel it! I can feel the destruction, the destitution, the misery, and the useless wastes we call emotions being emptied and reduced to nothingness! Ahahaha! Come, Giratina!" Cyrus beckons to the stormcloud above the two portals,

"Come to destroy the final thing that keeps this world imbalanced!"

Cyrus reaches into his coat pocket and produced a small, kite-shaped cube. It is no bigger than a Thunderstone, but I recognize the golden object instantly.

"The... the Birth of a New World... That's... that's the stone from the cave painting!" I weakly breath out. Cyrus continues to laugh and laugh and laugh- until a voice from behind me calls out,

"Cyrus! Voltflare!"

That was...

I turn my head, teary-eyed, to see the face of my rescue slowly appear out of the mountain cave.

*Nathan's POV*

"Cyrus! Voltflare!" I yell, storming into the ruins atop Mount Coronet with a pious scowl on my face. Voltflare leaps against his chains, which are attached to four of the ruins's pillars, and my heart breaks.

He's badly bloodied, bruised, and beaten. And, by the looks of it, he's also been douses with water for an extended period of time. Cyrus, what have you done?!

The madman turns to meet me when I approach.

"You're too late!" he crows,

"Observe!"

Cyrus lifts his hands to the sky, and a large shadow begins to creep along the floor towards the chained Equilibrium Pokemon. I instantly recognize the shadow, somehow, as the same one that had plagued Voltflare since we first left for Sinnoh.

The shadow begins to grow in size- double, triple, quadruple, until the ominous reaper stands at over three times my height. It quickly encompasses Voltflare, and his green eyes are lost amongst a tangled mess of slowly-sinking darkness.

"No!" I yell, and, before, I can stop myself, I run straight into the black mass after my Pokemon. I am instantly overtaken by the surprised forcefulness of the gloom, and I fall to my knees in pain. An invisible something sinks its claws into my chest, sheathes them, and begins to drag me away to another place.
