Chapter 24

Cassidy's P.O.V

I spent all weekend with myself and food. It was okay enough, heck it would have been great if my friends were here but I guess my mouth needs a padlock or something. Monday passed and my mother or brother hadn't said a word to me. I felt lonely and abandoned to be honest. My mother would leave for work and my brother for school. I was left in the house all by myself. My mother took away my phone so I spent half the time sketching in my books or on the wall. Tuesday came slowly and I was kind of happy, because this meant it was my last day of suspension. I didn't know I'd ever be saying this but I would actually love to be amongst a human population again. I'd love to go back to school. I heard the opening of a door and I knew either my mother or brother was here so I ignored it. All my time alone, I realise that I really and truly need to control my anger better yet I need to get over my problems to drop the heavy bag that dangles in my heart. Then and then I'd be able to control my anger and be nicer. Well at least try to.

The day I had anticipated came around quickly. I woke up before everyone and got ready. By 6:30 I was in the kitchen finishing up breakfast. I had to wait in my mother though and since its my day back she had to be there. The car ride to school was silent and kind of awkward. She still hasn't spoken to me. When we arrived at school ,I just got out and walk towards the office not really carry if she was behind me or not. I pushed the heavy door opened and step in with her a few seconds after me. The principal looked at me with raised eyebrows and I stared at him blankly. What is he expecting?

"Good morning Mrs.Monroe." he says outstretching his hands to my mother's. She shook it and gave a slight simile.

"Anything you'd like to Cassidy?" He asks.

"No I don't think so." I answered and he raises his eyebrows.

"Well msy I remind you of you're actions. You got in a fight with Hillary and she's coming back to school today as well on my difference is that she have stitches in her face. You then skipped detention. Bear in mind you must still serve you're detention today." He finishes. Thats not fair!

He turns towards my mother,". If anything like this happens again with you're daughter will be expelled and as instructed she'll meet with a teacher for anger management."

"Okay. Thank you sir." She answers. What's she thanking him for??

"You may go class now Cassidy. I'd like to speak with you're mother alone." He dismissed me and I was never this happy before. I practically bounced down the hallway. Getting some strange looks and even scared looks. It felt good to be back at school.

First period came about and I was looking forward to see Katherine but she wasn't here. Is she sick or something? Or maybe she was late. By third period she still didn't show. I saw Kaleb though and he had the distance and cold look he had had before we became friends and he was human again. But I guess now he was back to his normal self. He looked at me and I gave a slight wave he didn't wave back or acknowledged my wave he just looked away . The pang in my heart didn't go unnoticed. I knew what I've said really hurt him and I don't know exactly why I said it.I sigh, I had decided to confront him after class but when the bell rang and I looked down to place a book in my bag and when I looked back up he was missing. Vanish. I rushed out if the class even hitting other students but the hallway was too crowded and he has the skill to blend in and hide if he wanted to. I sighed. I'll just wait until lunch then.

Lunch came around quickly and I walked quickly to the cafeteria and spotted Kaleb immediately. He was seated in the far corner by himself with a bored expression on his face. I took a deep breath and walked over to his table. I notice he had two drinks and I'm hoping he actually saved that one for me like always. I took a seat before him and he looked up and stared at me for a while.
