Toothlesses Story

Chapter 7

Toothless goes over and flames the ground to make it warm. A bird flies over his head, and he looks at it.

Then, "Really?" Hiccup is sitting next to Toothless at a respectable distance. Toothless tolerates him just barely.

"Toothless you look ready to explode!" Snotlout said.

(Silence) "I see you!" Toothless says, lifting his tail of his eyes.

"Good senses!"

Hiccup walks away quickly. Toothless moves to a different spot, muttering about stupid humans.

The scene changes to evening. Toothless is hanging like a bat over a tree. He wakes up and looks around. He spots Hiccup, and walks over.

"What are you doing?" Toothless says when he sees Hiccup drawing in the ground with a stick.

Hiccup keeps drawing and Toothless watches with interest.

"I want to try" Toothless says and then waddled away on his hind feet to find a stick to draw with.

"Toothless, I'm sorry but you look so funny walking on your hind legs!" Hiccup laughs.

He comes back with the stick and runs around making lines in the ground, looking back at Hiccup occasionally.

"It's you!" Toothless said nodding, proud of his work.

"Hiccup it does kind of look like you!" Astrid said.
"It does not!" Hiccup retorts.
"In an abstract way it kind of does. I'm just saying." Astrid defends.

Hiccup looks around with amazement.

He starts to walk and steps on a line.

"Get off!" Toothless growls.

Hiccup lifts his foot and then puts it back down.

"I'm not joking!" Toothless growls again.

Hiccup lifts up his foot and then puts it down again.

"I'll kill you!" Toothless says.

"Wow Toothless." Hookfang mutters.

Hiccup lifts and steps over the line.

"Thanks!" Toothless says.

Hiccup makes his way out of the lines, making sure to step over them. He makes it out, and ends up right in front of Toothless. He turns around slowly.

Hiccup slowly reaches out his hand.

"Can I trust you?" Toothless growls, flinching back.

Hiccup brings back his hand, and turns his head away. He reaches out his hand again.

Toothlesses eyes go wide at the hand reaching toward his head.

He hesitates a bit, then gently lets Hiccup touch his nose. Toothless draws back after a second, and runs off.

"Wow."
