Chapter 8

A/N: So sorry for not updating sooner! I was very busy at the end of the school year. My grandma died a few days ago😪so I've been dealing with that. But here's the new update you've been waiting for!

"That was some bonding scene!" Astrid said.

"It sure is interesting to learn about their relationship from a point of view that's not human." Snotlout agreed.

"Snotlout! I didn't know your brain could comprehend such thoughts!" Astrid said in astonishment.

Snotlout's retort was cut off by the screen bursting to life.

"Hi Toothless! I brought breakfast. I hope you're hungry!" Hiccup said.

"When is he not?" Astrid said smiling.

Toothless sniffed at the mysterious object Hiccup was carying before turning his attention back to the food basket.

Toothless zoned out Hiccup's ramblings on the fish until we heard loud and clear, "-and whole smoked eel!"

"Of course the only part he hears is the part that's important." Stoick said.

"At least it wasn't the non-important part." Hiccup said.

"What did you say?" Toothless growled, backing up slowly.

Hiccup reached into the pile of fish cautiously, before picking up an eel.

Toothless reared up in fright, and started screaming to get the eel away from him.

"Whoa whoa whoa! It's okay!" Hiccup said before tossing the eel away.

Toothless murmured a thanks while Hiccup agreed with his preference on eels.

Toothless dived into the fish while Hiccup moved slowly around to the back and out of sight.

"That's not suspicious at all." Tuffnut said sarcastically.

Toothless had finished the fish on the ground, only to see a fish in the basket, and lunged forward, causing a yelp from Hiccup in the background.

He finished the fish, then suddenly sat up in surprise, the basket falling off his mouth.

"What's on my tail?" Toothless asked himself quietly.

We see him wiggling his tail, and his mouth opens in shock.

We finally see Hiccup, only to see him sitting on Toothlesses tail, attaching a prosthetic fin.

Everyone laughs.

"Only Hiccup would be stupid or brave enough to sit on a still likely hostile dragon tail." Astrid laughed.

Hiccup murmurs to himself while Toothless prepares to take off.

"There! Not to bad, it works." Hiccup says.

Suddenly, Toothless bolts, carrying Hiccup with him.

"Oh no."

They climb higher, when Toothless falls like every other time he tried to fly.

Then he surprisingly flys back up, barely missing a wall.

"Yes! This is amazing! I can fly again!" Toothless howls into the wind.

Then he looks back, and see's Hiccup on his tail.

"What are you doing? Catching a joyride? Get off!" Toothless says flicking his tail.

Hiccup goes flying.

They laughed. A lot.

Toothless looks satisfied, until he stays to fall as well.

"Oh no."

He lands in the lake, Hiccup comes up a moment later and yells, "Yeah!"

"You enjoyed that?" Gobber asked incredulously.

"Yes" was all he got in response.
