Adrien POV:

I stared at the passing city as I drove to school. I arrived just at the bell rang. I dashed up the stairs and quickly slipped into my seat in front of Marinette. "Good morning class," Madame Bustier said, walking, "Today you will be assigned partners. We will be doing a project about romance. The first pair will be Chloe and Sabrina. Ivan and Mylene. Rose and Juleka. Max and Nathaniel. Alya and Nino. Finally, Marinette and Adrien."

I shifted in my seat to look at Marinette. Her face was flustered and she stared at her desk. "Hey partner," I smiled.

She slightly raised her head. "H-hey," She stuttered.

"You are required to write a short story. It can be about falling in love or heartache." Madame Bustier continued.

The bell rang signaling for our next class to begin. I glanced at Marinette who was quickly shoving her belongings in her bag. "So, Marinette. I was thinking we could go to your place or mine and work on the project," I suggested.

"Um...yeah. Yeah, just um... come by after school.... my parent's bakery is um..." Her voice trailed off.

"Yeah. I'll see you later," I waved and left to catch up with Nino.

I walked to the small bakery after school. When I opened the door I was hit with a scent of freshly baked goods and warmth that filled the air. "Can I help you?" A woman's voice asked.

"I'm uh looking for Marinette," I answered.

"Oh you must be Adrien. She's in her room. Just go up the stairs," She gestured towards the back door.

"Thank you," I beamed.

I strolled up the stairs and opened the hatch slowly. Marinette was sliding across the floor and taking down something off her wall. "Hey Marinette," I spoke breaking the silence.

Marinette nearly jumped out of her skin. "Oh Adrien!" Marinette turned and faced me.

I entered the room as she motioned for me to sit on her chaise. I cautiously sat on the lounge as she pulled a chair next to me. "So, um, for our, uh, project. I thought it,uh, could be about,um,love," she shrugged her shoulders.

"Love," I repeated,"Have you ever been in love?"

Marinette's face turned a bright red. She twiddled her thumbs. "No," She squeaked.

"No," She cleared her throat,"Have-have you?"

I sucked in a breath."I think I am, I just don't know how to tell her."

"Well, she's a very lucky lady," Marinette mumbled.

"Your designs are amazing. When did you start designing?" I asked.

"Huh? Oh they aren't really. It doesn't matter anyway," She waved her hand dismissively.

Did she just say a complete sentence? No stuttering?
