Adrien POV:

Marinette stood up, "Alya, I can explain."

Alya grabbed Marinette's hand, dragging her to Marinette's room.

I stayed frozen in the tub. Marinette, she was the one. At least, I think she is. I got up and grabbed my bag. I left the bakery and began the walk home. I glanced back at Marinette's balcony to see her and Alya talking. I sighed and kept walking. I finally reached my house and locked myself in my room.

"I want to get to know her, but she won't let me in," I complained to Plagg.

"What do you want me to do about it?" Plagg replied, laying on my pillow.

"Nothing, I just need to vent," I sighed, grabbing my phone.

I dialed Marinette's number and fell onto my bed.

"A-Adrien, hey. I was um just about to call you. I uh think we should only hang out to focus on the uh project. Like, no more personal questions until we finish it," She told me.

"I - yeah, okay," I hung up the phone and glanced at Plagg, "Plagg, claws out."

I transformed and jumped out my window, letting the fresh air help clear my head. She said she didn't hate me, but it feels like she does.

"Chaton, patrol doesn't start for another hour," Ladybug's voice said from behind me.

"I know. I just have a lot on my mind," I sighed.

"What's bothering you?" She sat next to me.

"This girl I like. I want to get closer to her but she won't let me," I explained.

"Don't give up on her, Chat. She might just be scared of rejection and oblivious to your feelings," She smiled, "I know I'd be scared to be rejected by someone as awesome as you."

I grinned, "M'lady, are you flirting with me?"

"In your dreams, Chat," She rolled her eyes.

"Thanks anyways, m'lady. That really cheered me up."

"Glad I could help, Chat," She rested her head on my shoulder and we watched the sunset.

Even though we were just friends, it was one of the best moments of my life.
