Marinette POV:
I stared into the darkness. I wanted to call out to Chat and spend my last night talking to him but no words came.
'Beautiful, smart and talented.' The words replayed in my head. Does he really mean it?

I ran to school and quietly slipped in my seat.
"Hey Marinette," Adrien waved.
"Hey," I smiled.
"What are you wearing tonight?" He asked.
"I don't know," I shrugged," What kind of party?"
"Well- it's actually a masquerade ball." He scratched the back of his head.
"Oh- well. I can design and create a dress by then I think," I mumbled, " What time?"
"8." He answered.
"8" I repeated, " Okay. Will do."
He turned around as Madame Bustier entered the room.
"Mari- will you be able to handle a night, alone, with Adrien?" Alya asked.
"I -" I paused," No. I will just embarrass myself. Alya help me get out of this."
"Okay. After school," Alya replied.

"Marinette! You have another guest!" My mother called.
"Coming mama!" I shouted back.
"Who is it?" Alya asked.
I shrugged and ran to the bakery. I saw Adrien standing by the register.
"Adrien?" I questioned.
"Hey Mari," He beamed," I have bad news. The balk was rescheduled but I thought we could hang out here."
"Uh- Alya's over right now," I replied.
"Oh, we can all hang out together if you don't mind," Adrien suggested.
'He's so polite. But - I can't risk humiliating myself.'
"Girl stuff," I blurted.
"What?" He gave me a confused look.
"We-we are talking about girl things," I clarified.
"Maybe another time then," He responded, sadness filled his voice.
He turned around and walked out.
"Adrien!" I yelled as the door closed."Damn it!"
I walked up the stairs and sat by Alya.
"You okay?" Alya asked
"Ya," I lied.
