The Dinner

~CHAPTER TWO~ 

DINNER

I nervously creak open the dining room door to see the king impatiently tapping his fork on his plate,  

"where have you been raven? I've been waiting for quite awhile now." 

"sorry king I was freshening up." I manage to squeak, I cannot help but be nervous around the most powerful man in this land. 

"call me klyde, raven do you know why you are here?" 

"not exactly ki-Klyde just I'd like to say that I try my bes-" 

"you're not here to be punished trust me on that, do you know about the legend of Platious?" 

Platious, the old king of Poliguir, how could I not he was the most beloved man. 

"yes I know about king Platious, he was a wonderful man, your grandfather am I correct?" 

"indeed, Raven meet me at the ball tonight and we will finish talking alright? oh and I have a dress fitting for you at six thirty." 

"Thank you Klyde its an honor to be here" 

I bow then I get escorted to the fitting room, boy is this exciting

I walk into the ball wandering down the marble steps. the ball had only begun moments ago and I arrived just after the king. I walk towards him with a grin, he is extremely handsome but my thoughts are interrupted by him calling my name, he didn't do it loudly I was just next to him, just enough to catch me out of my day dreams.  

"yes Klyde?" 

"you look beautiful Raven, I never thought a servant could be so graceful." 

"thank you, this means the world to me, such an honor" 

I was wearing a gorgeous hazel gown with crystals and emeralds embedded in the torso and waist, I had to admit I looked pretty spectacular the way it matched my eyes and hair. 

"Raven did you know that you are a special women?"  

I bacame speechless, I didn't know what that meant, I was going to freak out. if you heard a handsome king tell you you are special, what would you do laugh? cry? no no no I panicked internally. 

"sorry I must've misheard you, did you say special?" 

"yes raven, you are very special. not to everyone though, Raven step aside please." 

we were dancing on the outside of the ballroom dance floor so we stepped aside to our table. 

"Raven I would like to ask you a very special question, alright?" 

"y-y-yes?" 

"do you know exactly what you are capable of? or what you are?" 

right then and there I passed out, embarrassing I know. what the heck why did I pass out goodness gracious get a hold of yourself Raven like what the heck!?

when I awoke I was in the royal hospital with a nurse and Klyde next to me. Klyde signaled the nurse to leave and so she walked away. 

"Raven I'm sorry I shouldn't have brought it that strong and in a crowd, my apologies." 

"no no no I'm fine its my fault sorry to ruin the ball for you" 

I felt awful knowing the king left the ball concerned about me. 

"trust me without you that ball is already dead, it gets fairly boring without someone to dance with." Klyde winked. 

then it just dawned on me, we are alone, in a room, and he likes me. holy cow The King Likes Me!!! I smile then casually start the conversation again, 

"the reason why I fainted, what exactly am I?" 

"well..."
