After The train ride home, we caught a bus on the way back home. I didn't speak much in case I started crying again. I was extremely emotionally confused. I was mad that mum made me come home in the middle of talking to Phil. I was Sad that I had to leave Dan and Phil. I was happy to be home. I was dejected that my dad has passed away. It was his funeral tomorrow.
"So, Y/N. Are you happy to be home?" Mum asked. I nodded. I was glad to be home but my hometown was not a pretty sight. Worse still, it was famous for it's fish. That's not that great when you don't like fish. "I've put back all your things," She told me.
"Thanks mum," I said and I hugged her arm.

The next day...

I got up early in the morning to get dressed and ready. We left for the funeral at ten o clock. The service wasn't very busy. At the end, we could go up to my father and leave flowers or notes etc. In his casket. I was the last one. I stood there on my own and looked down at my dads sleeping body. He was pale and his eyes were closed. He looked so peaceful. I closed my eyes to stop the tears. I held his hand and felt his cold soft fingers in my grasp. It was wrong. His hands were always warm and he was forever wiggling him fingers, alas, His fingers stayed still. I opened my eyes and saw what he was surrounded by. Flowers, Gifts and papers with notes and things on. He would've hated this. My dad never liked receiving, he preferred giving.
"Daddy,
you taught me to be strong, and I'm sorry,
Sorry that I'm letting you down,
I can never be strong enough to accept that you're not here now," I whispered as i kissed his bitter cold hand.
A shiver went down my spine as I felt my lips touch his skin. A tear rolled down onto the back of his hand as I placed it back across his chest. After leaving, we went back home and I sat next to my mum. We didn't do much. But I was home. Well, mum tried hard to make it feel that way. And it was like this for months...
