"Hey Becky, wanna help us hang the sign?" Mackenzie asked Becky. "Sure." Becky said as she picked up a drill to drill the sign to the building. "I'm coming too." Jackson said to Becky. Becky just rolled her eyes. "Keep an eye on him, would you?" Becky asked Brandon. "Yeah I will." Brandon said. Becky walked down the hall to help Hailey and Mackenzie. She looked at the photos on the wall. They were all of her friends and co workers. They were all dead.
Becky walked outside and saw Hailey and Mackenzie looking at the building trying to decide where to hang the sign. "Have you made up your mind yet?" Becky asked them. "It's gonna there." Hailey said as she pointed to the top of the building just above the double doors. "Ok, let's do this." Becky said to Hailey. "I'll go get the ladder." Mackenzie said as she started to run to the garage. Julia walked outside to join them. "Hey, the sign looks really good!" Julia said. "Oh, thanks. It was mainly all Mackenzie." Hailey said laughing a little. Mackenzie came back and propped the ladder against the wall that they would hang the sign to.
Becky stepped down from the ladder. "You all like it?" Becky asked as she looked at them. "I love it!" Hailey said. "It looks great!" Mackenzie said. Julia and Mackenzie walked inside. "Thanks again..." Hailey said. "For what?" Becky asked her. "For helping us. Who knows how long we would of lasted out there. You saved us." Hailey said. "I didn't save you. I'm not like that..." Becky said. "What do you mean... You're a cop... Your job was to save people." Hailey said. Becky looked up at her. "Sure..." Becky replied.
We were finally back to the FBI department. We ran around the corner to see Becky and Hailey turn around. Hailey's jaw dropped and Becky pulled out her gun when she saw Joe. John ran to the doors and opened them for me. I ran inside holding Luke. "It's ok... He's helping us..." John said to Becky. Becky still kept her gun out and aimed at Joe. Joe stood there silent until John waved for Joe to come inside with him. Becky and Hailey followed them inside.
My heart was beating so fast as I ran into the main room and saw everyone. I saw Mackenzie's back turned to the wall while she was doing something. She slowly turned around as she heard me come into the room. Her face turned shocked when she saw me holding Luke. "What happened--" Mackenzie started to say before I interrupted her. "You need to help him... Please..." I said to her. Mackenzie immediately ran over to a table and pushed everything of it. I put Luke down on the table. And that was when I noticed all the blood running down my legs. I was covered in thick warm blood. Mackenzie turned Luke over and revealed that he had been shot in the back. "I-I don't know if I can do this... He was shot in the spine..." Mackenzie said as she looked back at all of us. I was getting dizzy. I couldn't imagine losing my son like this.
I walked over to Charlotte but she just pushed past me. "Charlotte... It wasn't--" I started. I didn't know what to tell her. I looked back over at Mackenzie as she was trying to wipe all the blood away and get a better look at the gun shot wound. "No... no no!" Charlotte started yelling. I felt overwhelmed with guilt. It was all my fault. My son was going to die, my wife hated me now. Charlotte started running up to the table. She was screaming and carrying on. Everything started to go black. "You ok?" I heard John's voice muffled in the background. Then it was all pitch dark.
I woke up to see John in my face. "Aaron. You there?" He was asking me trying to sound calm. But I knew he wasn't calm, his face sweating like it did when we almost forgot about a deadline in work. "Is he ok?" I asked as I got up. I saw Mackenzie holding a pair of scissors with blood on them. "No! Stop!" I said. Mackenzie looked over at me. "...Aaron, it's ok... She's gonna save him..." John said pulling me back from running to the table. "You need some air..." John said as he walked me outside.
We stood outside in silence. "It's not your fault." John said to me. "I'm not even sure anymore..." I said to him. "Come on... You know it's not..." John said to me. "Come back in when you're ready to handle this..." John said as he patted my back.
