There's this girl known as Jenny, short for Jennifer. Duh. She's a happy-go-lucky, free-spirited, strong-willed, and always wear her heart upon her sleeves.
She has an older sister named Courtney, short for Cornelia whom she always asks for advice, especially in terms of relationship and love.
Jenny likes a guy named Kurt, the guy she's in love with as she claims it. Kurt was famous for being a snob, naive, and stubborn yet Jenny still liked him- loved him even. She sees Kurt in a far more different light that anyone could ever see. Jenny thought that there's just something about Kurt that she keeps on liking him even though all he had ever shown her was treatment full of coldness.
For three years in college, Kurt is the center of Jenny's attention. Her friends and her sister were quite amazed on how her admiration lasts with such kind of guy. For three years, she gives card and chocolates to Kurt every Valentine's Day, she gives gifts on his birthday and Christmas, and supported him on any of his activities. Kurt was clearly aware of Jenny's feelings for him all this time and yet, he still gives her a cold shoulder.
In time, Jenny somehow became a part of Kurt's life. She was the only one who was and will always be there for him no matter what he does. Yet, Kurt hasn't been clear about his feelings, he doesn't even know his true feelings towards Jenny. Yes, he's always cold towards her but that doesn't seem to show his true feelings. But all he knows is that Jenny is already a part of him.
One time, Courtney asked her sister
"So how's your relationship with your Prince Charming?"
Jenny answered that it was still the same.
Courtney felt bad for her sister, she witnessed all the hard work and effort Jenny had put into for that guy. So she decided to finally confront her sister to somehow help her and make up her mind if she's really sure to continue this kind of relationship and feelings. So she told her
"Jenny, y'know it's troubling me.. the way you care for that guy yet he just ignores you, it's been three years!"
Jenny replied with "So.... what's your point?"
"It's just that, maybe you've been taken for granted by that guy. And c'mon, from the first place, I never figured out why you like him."
"Courtney, you know how much I love him. I, myself don't know why, but I know for sure he isn't taking me for granted and if he does.... I would let him be... because I also like what I can do for him."
"Oh. So this is your idea of love? Being there for him even if he totally doesn't care about you and being taken for granted? Jenny, I feel so bad for you. He's really lucky for all the things you've done for him, just once, did he ever gave the same treatment or feelings back to you? Or even just a sense of gratitude? Had he ever done that? Yes, he is good-looking but is that the only thing that you like about him?"
