The next day was interesting. I didn't fall asleep until 1 in the morning when I made it to an empty cabin and collapsed on the bed, my body needing all the sleep it could get. I didn't wake up until 10 in the afternoon where I made my way back on deck with my bag on my back, I could see some guy sitting on the railing of the boat as he sharpened and cleaned his kunai. Honto was nowhere to be seen but I didn't mind. I leaned over the railing and stared at the waves crashing into the ship, my thoughts clouded with everything that's happened in the past year and a half. Becoming a genin and team member of Team 7 alongside Naruto and Sasuke-kun with Kakashi Hatake as our teacher, the mission to the Land of Waves where a squirrel was probably more useful then I was, the fights the boys would have and I would break up, the fact they saw themselves as the strongest out of the three of us and insisted on always protecting me and turning me away because I was too weak, how Kakashi-sensei would focus on training the boys and tell me multiple excuses from I was smart enough to figure it out on my own, that I already knew what was being taught, that he was too busy doing something else when he really wasn't. I'm sure they thought they meant well by all of this but it hurt, it hurt being put to the side and ignored by the very people I was put on a team with. Maybe this mission was good for me, maybe it would help me grow a back bone and put my foot down, at least, I really hoped it would.
"You're not very good at sensing are you?"
I quickly turned around to see Honto a few feet in front of me with his arms over his chest, "H-Honto-senpai! No, uh... I'm not very good at sensing, I was more book smart and good at chakra control then anything."
"Geez who was your sensei? They sure didn't teach you anything."
"Ano... He didn't teach me much..."
I saw Honto bite his lip before signaling me to follow him, there were two chairs that he quickly claimed for us and shifted one of the chairs so that they were facing each other and we both sat down. He rummaged through his pouch on his leg and pulled out a small stack of paper that I could only assume was chakra paper before handing one to me. I stared at it as I put a bit of my chakra in it, waiting for something to happen; a yin and yang symbol began to form in the middle of the paper before it began to get wet and then crumble away.
"Awesome! You've got water and earth affiliation along with Yin and Yang release, something that not many people have. Well I'll teach you all the water techniques I know when we get to the village, I'm sure I can find someone to teach you some earth techniques though I think the Mizukage will probably find someone better then who I could find but who knows. How long do you plan on staying in the Mist anyways?"
"Oh uh, just a week at most. I've got to go to the Lightning Village and then make my way back to the Leaf and it will take some time getting back. Thank you so much Honto-senpai! I promise to be the best student you ever have!" I bowed my head, excited for this new discovery of abilities and excited to be able to learn something new that would help me in the future.
Honto taught me as much as he could while on the ship, he focused mainly on working on my senses since the water and the animals in it could sometimes make it difficult to do just that. It was strenuous for the rest of the day with learning how to sense chakra and pin point it, though I wasn't perfect at it yet, Honto said with a few more days of practice I could master it efficiently.
When the ship docked the next afternoon, Honto said it would take a few hours to get to the Mist Village, the others that were on the ship with us ran ahead of us the second we stepped onto land. Although Honto was much faster than I was, he slowed his pace so that I could keep up with him, suggesting that on my way to the Lightning Village that I work on my speed and stamina considering that village was known for strength and speed. Five hours of running with one break to eat food, we finally arrived to the Mist Village where I was stopped at the entrance to show my credentials and questioned for my reason of visit, Honto was told to bring me to the Mizukage to verify my reasoning.
