Timothy woke to the chirping of birds from outside his window. He had slept better than he had in years. The beds here were unbelievably comfortable. Timothy started down the staircase to go to the living quarters, when a knock came from his door. He walked to his door to answer.
"Good morning Timothy, I trust you slept well?" Said Samantha.
"Very, the beds are really soft."
"Yea, there made of Unicorn fur. But anyway, what can I get you for breakfast?"
"Thanks but ill make breakfast for myself, but, your welcome to stay."
"No I couldn't I have work to do."
"Please I'm asking?"
"Okay, if you insist, thank you."
Timothy began to make eggs and bacon in the kitchen. When he finished, Samantha and Timothy sat at the table and talked about the new capital city. They talked about the islands and how they were going to be connected by giant stone bridges. As they finished their meal, another knock came to the door. Timothy rose to answer his door. It was Kiglea.
"You two, it's time to start on the new capital."
Kiglea led them down the long staircase, through the twisting and turning passages. The castle was a giant maze of stone pathways and spiral staircases. Eventually they reached the main gate. Kiglea motioned for them to step outside into the courtyard. Captivated by the beauty of the fountain Timothy walked towards it. When he turned around his breath was taken away. This was his first time seeing the castle as a whole. The castle was made of a dark grey cobblestone. It had a giant gate made of iron bars and amazingly tall pillars of stone. There were balconies reaching high and low. There were Windows boarding every balcony. There was a giant balcony at the top where Timothy's room was.
"This will be the center island in the capital city. " said Kiglea
"Around the castle, there will be plants and animals and trees for the wildlife to live in. It will seem as tho the castle just popped up in the middle of a jungle." Said Kiglea. "We need you to finish the moats and the wall that will surround the capital city."
"Okay, can I get to the top of the castle so I can have a vantage point?" Asked Timothy
"Yes, but its a long walk, ill just have Nico get you up there." Answer Kiglea.
Then a large puff of smoke expanded into the courtyard and out of it stepped Nico.
"Good morning everyone, Timothy come with me I'll take you to the top."
Timothy stepped towards Nico as he led him to the main entry way to the castle. As Nico stopped in front of the castle he began to chant and a fiery glow radiated off of him. He took Timothys hand and ended his chant. Timothy and Nico began to race upwards towards the top of the castle as if an invisible platform was carrying them higher and higher until they reached the top. The top of the castle was a flat rectangle with spikes at every 10 or so feet. It was made of the same dark cobblestone the rest of the castle was.
"Is this high enough? We can go higher if we must. " asked Nico
"This is fine, thank you. You can go now."
"I thought I would stay and make sure nothing happened to you." Replied Nico.
"I'm quite alright but thank you for your consideration."
"No I insist, it's my job to protect the king" Nico said.
With a loud exhale Timothy agreed.
Timothy looked out into the city. There was a large camp towards the west of the city, and a well populated town to the north.
"What am I supposed to do about the town that sitting there?" Asked Timothy. "I can't put a moat right down the middle of it."
"Its been evacuated already. We have people on their way to burn it to give you a clear pathway. Start with the other sides first."
As Timothy turned around he saw the landscape to the south and east. They were drastically different from the west and north. This land was the land Timothy had first seen in the Dark Realm. It was not as badly burnt or filled with ash though. There were only a few places that were still black and smoldering. Timothy began to trace through with his mind a path for the moats to take. They would cut through the land until they were dozens of miles from the castle at the far end and 2 miles at the shortest. Then suddenly the grass and ash began to turn to water. The bridges began to appear. They were made of a light gray stone. With large arches swooping under the bridges. The moats at the other three locations also began to take shape and along the water, so did the bridges. Timothy imagined a large wall built out of pure obsidian and ruby. The wall began to rise out of the ground. It got higher and higher until it looked to be hundreds of feet high. He also imagined a moat that would encircle the 2 mile island that the castle would be on. As this took shape Timothy noticed that there was a loud swooping sound. Just as Timothy was about to ask what it was he saw a man soar from the sky to the castle. This man, however was not normal. He had a set of pure white wings on his back. His face was that of an angle.
"Nico why does he have wings and why is he here?" Asked Timothy as he backed away fearfully.
"This is Cassiel. He is the head of the nephilim here in the Dark Realm. He is also the lead messenger for the kingdom." Answered Nico
"What is a nephilim?" Asked Timothy
"I am a half human half Angel being that has special powers because of my Angel blood." Answered Cassiel.
"I also bring you a message from the leader of the forces sent to burn the town in the west. Before you put the wall up they saw a giant army marching away from the city. They were heading into the wilderness. The problem was the army that was seen is Dorans army."
"Wait Doran is here in the Dark Realm."
"I didn't say that, his army is here. He may not be"
"Either way we can't have Doran or his army here. I need to talk to Kiglea now."
"Ok ill get you to him." Said Nico
Nico began his chant once again. He grabbed Timothys hand. They were now in the great dinning hall. Kiglea was walking towards the main table to begin his breakfast.
"Kiglea, start a search party. Dorans army has entered the Dark Realm."
