The Day The Internet Was Destroyed

Dan and Phil stared at Phil's laptop, laughing and giggling so loud, that their neighbor knocked on their door and told them to be quiet. As the video finished, Phil looked over at Dan, tears of happiness streaming from his cheeks. 'Don't cry, craft!' He reminded him, which just made Dan laugh harder. 'The Phandom is going to love this' He shouted excitedly. 'I also loved how we made our editing especially bad. It just makes it better!' Phil smiled as he clicked the upload button.

 'I hope this doesn't turn out like last year. I don't want anymore spamming problems or people getting annoyed at us.' Dan said as he remembered the comments and memes the Phandom created out of the three words. Don't cry, craft! 'It won't' replied Phil. 'Don't cry craft is old now, no-one will do anything with it, anyway, the audience will be too overwhelmed to discover this unexpected video to destroy the internet!' 'Suppose that is true, too bad the videos take so long to load!' exclaimed Dan impatiently. It was late at night, so the boys went of to bed, Unaware of all the havoc they would cause. 

Dan woke up to the vibrations on his phone. It was April fools day and he was aware that the audience was going to pull a few tricks, like calling him and Phil by their middle names and spamming the dreaded question 'Hey buddy you in London' to his second senpai Nick Jonas. He got up to sit on his bed, dazedly reaching for his phone. He turned it on, the lock screen filled with the same message from all of the social medias he had. PROTIP! All of them red the same short six lettered word. He unlocked his phone and looked at the comments of the Glitterfaces video. They already got five hundred thousand views and seven thousand likes. 

He scrolled down to the comment section down below and read them. Some were quoting the jokes they included in the video such as 'Phil it happened again'. Others were making some jokes themselves like 'I got tears from laughing but it's okay I'm crafting.' Some even thought that him and Phil were going to put glitter on their actual faces! But 99.9999999 percent of the comments and replies read PROTIP. Many of them had the additional exclamation marks, but Dan knew for sure. 'PROTIP' was the new 'Don't cry, craft!'

Phil ran into the room, wearing his apron with abs on it. As he opened the door, the delicious smell of freshly cooked pancakes wafted into the room. 'Did you see the comments' Just then a notification came up on their phones. A person called Llama Kittens just commented on the video 'PROTIP is everywhere!' and in seconds, people were replying with Everywhere! and of coarse, PROTIP! Phil laughed awkwardly 'They were right about the PROTIP being everywhere!' Dan laughed with him.

Phil came over to sit on Dan's bed with him and for the sake of interest and to relate to all the comments, Dan got out his laptop so they can rewatch the video. They laughed along, knowing they made it the shittiest thing on YouTube on purpose. 'I can't believe our phans made such a fuss over it! We only said PROTIP four times in a range of twenty eight seconds!' Exclaimed Phil, in a fit of giggles. They decided to watch the SquareFlakes video from the year before. 'I can't believe you said 'what are those!' in the Squareflakes video before it became a vine, Dan! This proves you are in the Illuminati!' said Phil. 'Don't give away our second most important secret! People can hear you!' Said Dan, trying to hush Phil down.

'We said PROTIP three times in the SquareFlakes video, and yet it became popular this year!' Continued Dan. 'Like I said last night, Everyone is bored of Don't cry, Craft! PROTIP is the next big thing!' Phil explained to Dan. 'This inspires me for a tweet!' He said excitedly. Dan whipped out his phone from his pocket and opened up his twitter. He posted 'PROTIP!- All youtube comments are ruined for the foreseeable future.' He got Phil to read it. 'You could never be so true.' He said solemnly before softly giggling. 

'I'm actually quite interested to see what our audience made with this on Tumblr!' said Dan, smiling. 'We don't have to make a video for it but it would be quite interesting and fun!' Phil smiled. He got out his laptop and logged into Tumblr. He was welcomed by the comments of PROTIP! on his own pictures and pictures that were tagged for him. 'Look up #PROTIP! now!' said Dan, who was getting inpatient. 'Okay, calm down' Phil typed in #PROTIP and the first thing that came up was a picture of Dan's hair blowing up above his head with the caption 'fabulous'.
