May's POV

We looked at each other and put the pictures back in the file.

"What's that ladies?" said a voice.

We turned around to see the principal, Mr. Woods.

"Nothing. We should really get back to class" I said backing out the door with April right behind me.

We start walking back to science, slower than when we walked to the office. We walked into the class room Mr. Coben was still talking about rocks. We had 10 minutes until lunch. We sat in the back of the class room I clutched the file to my chest.

The bell rang.

"Now remember kids this weekend I want you to find three rocks." He smiled as he said this although it was to everyone elses demise.

I walked out of the class room with April right beside me. When we got to the cafetieria we sat at our regular table. Except Ryan and Darren sat next to us. I sat the file on the table.

"What's that?" Asked Ryan

April gave me the can we trust them look. I looked into Darrens eyes and nodded at April.

"A file." I said sarcastically.

"Thank you captin obvious." Ryan said laughing.

"What's in it?" Darren asked with his puppy dog eyes. All I could think was Damn........

"Its pictures of a -" I started to say until I was cut off by Jane and her group not to mention her boyfriend Tyler Black kinda ironic when you think about it.

"Hey nerds!" Tyler says with a smirk.

April rolled her eyes.

"Oh and May love the drawing you did in class but I must ask who is the boy in your drawing?" Jane asked smiling a big evil smile.

I was in a panic, I had no idea what to say and I guess April knew because she said "It's a person out of the book I'm reading. I'm not very good at drawing people so I asked May to draw him for me"

You could see Jane had a bit of shock on her face. Then they turned and lefted.

"So go on what is in the file?" Ryan asked on the edge of his seat.

I went to start again "It's a picture of a-" I was cut off again only this time it was a teacher telling us to go and the only thing I thought was Damn...

We got up from the table and went outside. April and I sat down and watched the other kids play basketball. We pulled back out the pictures. A man with a gun stood with his back facing who ever took the pictures. I flipped to the next one which was only a wall but a door knob was drawn on it in pen. Then a picture of a room. It was small with a circle window on the wall and a closet in the corner. I was about to say where is this place but the next picture showed my answer. It was a big white house with dark red shutters and rose bushes in the yard right next to the stairs that led up to the porch.

The next class went by fast even though I was looking at the clock the whole time. Five more minutes until I was free and would ride the bus to April's house. This was the only class that Ryan and Darren didn't sit by us. I looked up and saw Jane talking to Ryan. She was pulling the I need help on my homework card so she could talk to him. I was glad April was deep in her book because I think this was the last thing she would want to see.

We ran to the bus to get a seat because most of the time the bus was full. We sat down and started to listen to music. April started to talk to this one guy one her bus, Travis, I didn't like him at all. I looked out the window thinking about the house and that's when I saw it. . . . the house. The paint was falling off and vines had grown all up the walls and only three shutters were on the house. I slapped April's arm. When she turned I pointed to the house.

"Why are you guys looking at that old house?" Travis asked.

"We had seen some pictures of the house when it looked nice but it doesn't look so nice now" I said.

"Do you two know what happened in that house?" Travis asked eyes wide.

We shook our heads.

"Ok so one late night a husband came home to his wife cheating on him so he grabbed a gun and shot the wife, man and two kids. The husband disappeared but sent a post card from Paris to his sister"

We both looked at each other and I could tell by the look on April's face that she just wanted to be home.
