??? POV
I screamed in pain for what seemed like the millionth time since he stepped into the room.
He was a scientist, or so he told me. He said he would help me. He lied. Liar. The voice came back once he started the "tests", a series of him inducing pain in any way possible, writing down my responses, and moving on to another form of pain, ranging from mental to physical.
The scientist stabbed another knife into my arm. Tears streamed down my face as I kept back another scream. He made a sound of amusement and stabbed a knife into my other arm. So far, he had filled my entire left arm with knives.
I managed to turn my head enough to shoot him a piercing glare. He just smiled and ordered Karen, his assistant, to write it down.
Kill. Kill. Kill. The voice hissed, going from as soft as a whisper to as loud as a scream.
I winced and clenched my teeth. "No..." my voice was raspy and below a whisper. It surprised me. I had never used my voice before. Although it was barely noticeable, the scientist heard me and told me to speak up. I just shook my head in refusal.
He furrowed his brow and stabbed another knife into my arm. I bit into my cheek. I don't want him to have the pleasure of hearing my screams.
The taste of iron filled my mouth. The scientist panicked, ordering Karen to get tissues and stop the bleeding.
Funny, I thought he liked me in pain. Although, I could probably choke on my own blood.
Karen took off the face mask and pressed the tissues into the inside of my cheek. As she did that, I saw a wonderful opportunity, so I bit her fingers.
She shrieked and shouted at me to let go, but I only bit down harder. I could feel her bones cracking.
She fears, the voice hissed.
Before I could bite her fingers off of her hand, the scientist injected a numbing liquid into my veins. I couldn't bite down anymore, so Karen removed her fingers from my mouth.
Blood. Broken. Fear. Crying.
Karen ran out of the room, leaving the door wide open. Light flooded in, blinding me for a second, but I soon adjusted.
While the room was covered in blood and a dirty gray color, the outside hallway was white and clean, with a stripe of light on the ceiling.
The scientist ran after Karen and shut the door behind him, leaving me all alone in the dark room.
Only my head was numb, so I wrestled a hand out of its restraints and took the knives out of my arms.
It was very painful, so I winced, but kept myself quiet. I grabbed one of the knives and cut the rest of the ropes tying me to a table.
Freedom. Door.
I got up and opened the door. The scientist should have locked it... he's just making it easier for me to escape.
I snuck down the empty hallway to an office. The door had a sign saying,"On break, be back in 5" I tried opening the door, but the door was locked.
Footsteps, the voice hissed.
Indeed, someone was coming down the hallway from the direction I came from.
I ran in the opposite direction and hid in an unmarked room. It was small and dark.
I flipped a switch, which brightened the room.
There were chemicals everywhere, along with a broom, dustpan, mop, and a bucket. I was in a janitors closet. That's disgusting....
