It has been a week since Nathan was in a coma and Teresa had moved in with Thunder and Richard as Tonya’s apartment didn’t have enough room to house her best friend.
It must be incredibly difficult to be a almost a widow and having to live with the usually happy couple until she could get on her feet again. Teresa still could not fathom her current situation. She had not worked a day further since her wedding day as Nathan insisted anything that stressed out his wife was unnecessary as he would provide for her as long as he lived.
As the sole bread winner lay in a coma, Teresa now rented their house in order to have money that would go towards Nathan’s medical bills to keep him on life support for as long as she deemed it necessary.
Every night after having dinner, which she usually took and ate in her room and watching a movie to keep her mind occupied ‘til she fell asleep, she woke up in cold sweats, crying heavily, grieving the state of her husband Nathan. Despite her grieving, Teresa knew that she needed her body to rest, to eat and to exercise to ensure that Nathan’s baby would be born healthy regardless of if it’s father had surfaced from his deep sleep or not. It was all she had to drive her.
Tomorrow Thunder and Richard’s new roommate would be arriving as they also used the extra room in their very large apartment for extra funds, and they had been putting off telling Teresa of this as lately they never could find words to tell her.
“We can’t keep this to ourselves, we gotta tell her or tomorrow’s gonna be very awkward” Richard whispered to Thunder.
“I know but still I can’t bear to look at her in this state it absolutely breaks my heart. Can’t you tell her?” Thunder replied widening her eyes a bit giving her fiancé the look he could never resist.
“Fine” he snapped annoyed that he was basically given no choice in the matter.
He got up from the bed with his fiancé and walked to Teresa’s room. Slowly he lifted his hand to knock on the door reluctant to face the very almost depressed widow. Teresa opened the door and let Richard in.
“What’s up Richard? Didn’t think you or Thunder had to balls to face me so soon” Teresa responded jokingly.
Like a deer in headlights a blush crept onto Richard’s caramel coloured cheeks.
“It’s just we don’t know what to say Teresa don’t take it personally” he replied.
“But anyways the reason I’m here. Tomorrow we have a new roommate joining us” he almost closed his eyes as if scared of the reaction he’d receive.
“Oh that’s fine what’s her name?”
“Oh amm it’s not a girl, it’s a boy well a man. His name is Joseph and he’s about my age 24 or 25 I think. Said he needed a place for a few months ‘til he can find a place he can afford”
“Oh ok. Do you plan on telling him that he has a crazy she bat to deal with when he gets here?” Teresa said flatly.
“Nah he’s met Thunder already so it’s ok” Richard joked.
Giggling slightly for a second forgetting her sorrow she replied,
“I think you should warn him though”, she said returning to her sad state
“I don’t think that’s necessary, it’s just for you to know. He shouldn’t be around that much though. He’s a busy body from what he said and he’ll basically just use here to crash and shower.”
“Well ok then thanks for telling me Richard and thanks again for letting me stay here”
“It’s no problem Teresa we’re your friends and we’d hate for you to be worrying about anything right now, don’t mention it” Richard replied smiling.
