"Hello Sarah." Andrew is my older brother, well, was my older brother. He is dead to me now. He is my abuser. I was abused all of my life untill he went to college. Whenever he comes home for family gatherings and things like that, I'm his punching bag. My family doesn't know a thing about the beatings.
Not today. Not on my birthday. This is MY day! I'm not going to let him hit me again. "Hi Andrew", I said with shivers running down my spine. All of the memories came rushing back to me. I got teary eyed and called for my mom to come to the door and ran to the bathroom and cleaned myself up then went back to join the conversation.
Andrew is three years older than me. I don't know why he beats me. But what I do know is that he can really hold a grudge.
Andrew walked through the front door with a sort of confidence in his walk. He also had a gift bag in his hand. "Oh Andrew! What a surprise!", my mom said over joyed. "Hey mom. I thought that I would come and say happy birthday to my little sis", he said with a smirk on his face. "I also brought Sarah a present. Well, it's only half a present. I have to give her the other half later." He handed me the gift. I hope the other half of the gift isn't what I think it is. I sat the present down on the coffee table and started to open it. I was shocked at what I saw.
