Why Me?

Nightmares

I can feel his wieght on my chest. My lungs are searching for oxygen. I feel something cold on my face. I knew it was blood. "I missed you Sarah" His breath trails by my neck. I can feel my spirit leave my body. This is it.

I woke up with tears on my face. Heaven is standing right by my bed, staring at me. "What were you screaming about?" I didn't realize i had been screaming.

"Oh, i just had a nightmare." I open the curtains of my window and see that it was raining. Just great.

It was still pretty early. I looked over at my clock.....4 am. Way too early.

I look over at Heaven. I ask her "Why are you up so early?"

"Well, you kind of woke me up...."

"Oh, I'm sorry.", I say at almost a whisper. I must have been screaming pretty loud if I woke her up. She sleeps in the room next to me. Thank God I didn't wake up my mom and.....him. They are both in different rooms downstairs.

"You should try and go back to sleep", I say to my sister.

"I want to stay with you, just in case you have another nightmare." Her voice is so soothing, it calms me instantly.

"Ok, you can stay but you need to try to go back to sleep."

She nods and I move over so she can lay down with me. She is only seven so she doesn't take up that much space in my bed. I cover her with the blanket and turn over so my back is to her. I still  want to try to get some sleep.

I can feel her shift. "Hey Sarah?"

"Yes Heaven?"

"I love you", she says to me.

The words hit me like a ton of bricks. I have been so worried ever since Andrew showed up, unannounced I may add. I feel like  I have been ignoring  Heaven and I feel like I have been blocking everybody out. All I can think about is Andrew and memories of him and the pain he caused.

"I love you too, Heaven." Before I know it, I can hear her snoring quietly. I smile  to myself knowing that she is safe tonight. I can feel my eyelids drooping, and I'm asleep.

Authors note: Hello to all of my lovely readers. I am so sorry that I haven't updated in a long time. I am going to start updating at least once a week. Thank you guys so much for the reads and votes. I would really appreciate if you guys could leave comments. I am going to start making my chapters longer than this. I just wanted to get a chapter for you guys. Thanks. :)
