Calculus made my head hurt. We were given problems to do to "refresh" our memory but in all honesty it was like we were learning the topic all over again. I struggle in math so I knew this class was not going to be easy. I decided that I would do my work right away instead of procrastinating. I hated always staying up late having to finish homework in the last minute. The goal I set is to leave my high school antics and habits behind and grow away by being a lot smarter about how I do things with school. I really wanted to pass every class with a B so there was no worry of staying in school longer than I had too.
I got back to my dorm around 4:45 in the afternoon, finished with my classes for the day. Hayle wasn't in the room when I got in I guess she had other plans for the afternoon. I got started on my Calc homework which turned out to be harder than I thought. I tried my best to dust off the math file in my brain in hope that everything would soon start making sense to me. After working on a problem for 30 minutes and getting nowhere close to an answer I decided to give the homework a break.
I got up and changed into some athletic shorts and an old tee. I threw my hair up and grabbed a water bottle then headed off to the campus gym. I need to relieve off some stress. My family doctor once told me exercise is the best thing and that those stupid stress balls never work. The campus had at least 4 gyms that were located near each of the classes' dorms. It only took me 5 minutes to quickly jog through the cold to the freshman gym.
I walk inside the gym and the smell of sweat and rubber blow right into my face. There is a light murmur of chatter among the other people spread across the gym along with the squeaks of the treadmill and clangs of metal weights slamming down on each other.
I walk over to treadmill and begin my normal running routine. I usually do two slow laps jogging and after that about 2 miles in a comfortable paced run. I being my jog as the treadmill slowly picks up speed. I put my earphones in then turn on the Fall OutBoy pandora station on my phone. Other than the two TV's mounted in each corner of the room in front of me there is a big glass that substituted an actual wall. The entire glass is tinted on the outside making it hard to see in but since the sun is still casting an orange glow across the sky it makes it easy for the glass to be seen through on both sides.
The gym is on the second floor of the building so it is easy to see the students walks around blow. As I jog I look down and begin to look at nothing particular. I see some students exiting a nearby building heading off in different directions. I see a couple sat under a tree deep in conversation. I then begin to notice the actual beauty of the campus at dusk. I loved the way the orange shadow spread it's way across campus. It made the place feel calm. While I continue to stare at the campus's beauty I notice a person with a black hoodie covering their face and a black duffle bag slung across their shoulders. They have their head ducked down it is impossible to make out any facial features. They walk with a quick pace towards the entrance of the gym building. For some odd reason I get a little nervous. I know I'm just being silly but incidents happen at colleges so you never know what to expect really. I keep my eyes trained on the gym entrance to see if the hooded figure will appear. I turn the speed down on the treadmill till I'm at a somewhat fast walking pace. A couple seconds later the hooded person comes through the door and removes their hood.
Blonde hair is quickly revealed. The hair is almost like a flame with how it's stuck up in all directions from being trapped under the hood. I see his piercing blue eyes search around the room for something. I quickly look away and put my focus straight ahead towards the window. Since the sun has finally set the window turned into a mirror from the tint. Out the corner of my eye I see Horan walk away from the door and toward the weight lifting area. I watch him in the glass, stride past and to a boy much broader than him with a bandana tied around his head. They give each other the typical bro hug and Horan begins to get ready to, what I assume, lift weights.
