Jenn, Michelle and Caitlin were having drinks after work at a hole in the wall bar that had dollar long necks. Caitlin was going to Denver the next morning and just wanted to check in with friends after the holidays.

"I cannot believe Congressman Killingsworth has done all that for you. Are you sure you haven't at least given him a blow job?" Jenn tipped the beer in Caitlin's direction.

"Oh my... no."

"That is not even funny Jenn," Michelle chimed in.

"I can't believe you stumbled upon Travis," Jenn said to Caitlin. "What did the card on your flowers say?"

"You are a flame in my heart," she recited.

"Ugh, so annoying- he's beautiful and romantic."

"I think he's romantic because we miss each other, you know? He's going to meet me in Denver, he's somewhere for work."

"I bet he works for some agency undercover."

"I'm not sure, but I know its top secret and he can't tell me anything about his job. It's weird, but I trust him anyway."

"Because he rubs you the right way?" Michelle grinned.

"Because he's so hard?" Jenn added.

"Y'all aren't right in your minds. I think it's because I feel protected. He cherishes me, which I have allowed myself to feel. It's been a while."

"I like being cherished with a big dick, don't you?" Jenn asked Michelle.

"I only want to be cherished with a big dick," Michelle agreed.

They laughed and clinked their bottles. They stayed for several more drinks and Caitlin left with an unnerving feeling of optimism growing in her gut.

Celia Baxter was gorgeous and her laugh made her more beautiful. Caitlin sat with Travis' mother on the back porch, which was heated and plush, drinking coffee while Travis and his dad were making breakfast.

"So Caitlin, I have to say, I'm pretty surprised to meet you. I didn't know Travis was dating anyone."

"I'm really happy he asked me to come."

"He says you met at the gym."

"Yes ma'am."

"And you work for a Congressman?"

She nodded and took another sip of coffee. She didn't get in last night until after nine, which was after eleven in DC. They'd both been beat and exchanged pleasantries before going to bed early. They'd had sex in his old bedroom while he held his hand over her mouth to quiet her moans.

"Have you always lived here? It could be out of a magazine."

"We've lived here for over twenty years, but we just renovated the entire house two years ago."

"I've never been to Denver. It's like a winter wonderland."

"It really is. We spend most weekends skiing or hiking. There are tons of things to do."

"That's really neat." She could tell the entire family was in perfect shape. There are was huge family portrait over the mantel of their family and she was sure they had perfected the athletic gene pool. Travis had one sister that was scarily tall but elegant looking.

"Where are you from dear?"

"Georgia. We do not have snow there, this is amazing." The backyard was covered in a fresh two inches of snow. Caitlin could stare at it all morning.

"Breakfast," Travis called from the kitchen.

She pushed herself out of the chair and opened the door. The smell of bacon hit her immediately and her stomach growled. "What are we having?"

"French toast and bacon," Wayne, Travis' dad, answered.

"Smells amazing," Caitlin complimented. "I could get used to this," she whispered to Travis.

"Where is Tenley?" Celia asked.

"She had a shoot this morning," Travis answered. "She said she'd come for dinner. Where are we eating?"

"The Capital Grille."

"A shoot?" Caitlin asked.

"Oh, Ten's a photographer."

"Not just a photographer, dad. She's one of the most sought after sports photographers in the country. She was a volleyball player in college who happens to be insanely talented. It turned into a freelance gig and now she has pictures all over."

"Wow, you guys have high standards."

"We do," Wayne agreed. "How about you Caitlin, any brothers or sisters?

"My best friend moved in with us when I was in high school, but she's the closest thing to a sibling I have. She's an engineer in Atlanta with a big firm."

"I can't wait to meet her," Travis said his mouth full of French toast.

"I hope you do get a chance to meet her."

The rest of breakfast was full of small talk and getting to know Travis better through his family. When they were putting their dishes up, he told her to go get her coat, boots and hat. Then he led her outside into the winter wonderland of the backyard. Travis held her gloved hand with his.

"Your family is lovely."

"Thank you for coming."

"Thanks for asking me."

"Asking you felt like this..." He let go of her hand and fell into the snow. He waved her to do it too.

"Why would you feel like you're falling?" She asked before she did the same thing. In the time it took to fall she felt fear, exhilaration and then a cushy landing.

"Because you scare me a little bit," he answered looking straight into the now cloudless sky.

"Why would I scare you? You let me put your dick in my mouth, you should trust me." She joked.

"Because you..."

She looked at him when he stopped talking and he still looking at the sky. Then he started moving his limbs to make a snow angel. She mimicked him.

"I'm just going to say it."

"Just say it."

"Here I go..."

She started giggling. "I love you too Travis." Her heart leapt from her body and soared so high she never thought she'd feel this way again. It was different, it was bigger, it was more.

He turned to face her, his eyelids almost brushing her nose. "You ruined my moment."

"You were taking a very long time to say three very small words."

"Three very significant words that I've never said to anyone before."

She analyzed him.

"I've had girlfriends. I've been close to saying it a few times, but I'm glad I didn't."

"Why?"

"Because they weren't you. They weren't this. They weren't us."

His lips were cold on hers, but their tongues were hot. He tasted like butter and syrup. It was now her favorite flavor of anything. He rolled her on top of him, but held her.

"I love you."

"I know."
