Ravensight blinked at the sparkling moonstone in front of her nose, it looked as if all the stars in the sky wound up together into the stone.
She turned to her medicine cat, Shyflower, and flicked her tail.
"Do you think StarClan will let me make SwiftClan official and make me a leader?" She asked in a worried voice, cleaning her white muzzle with a paw nervously.
"Of course!" Shyflower blinked. "StarClan will be happy for you to be our leader, but hurry up the stone is lit."
Ravensight nodded and pressed her nose to the Moonstone, and instantly a chill reached her bones and darkness enveloped her.
She felt grass under her paws and blinked open her eyes. She was on a dew speckled moor, in the distance she could see a forest and a river, she saw a salmon leap for the sky then splash back down into the blue currents. There was not a cloud in the sky and the air was heavy with prey scent.
"Greetings Ravensight." A mysterious voice spoke behind her.
She whipped around, the grass making her paws feel wet and soggy.
She looked at the raggedy tom behind her and asked, "who are you?"
He dipped his head. "I am Sparrowtail. A warrior of RiverClan."
Sparrowtail twitched an ear as eight more starry figures appeared behind him. Then, he padded forward, hardly disturbing the shiny, green grass under his paws.
He touched his nose to her forehead and said, "with this life I give you trust. Use it to accept what others tell you." A shock rippled through Ravensight, but her paws were anchored to the ground and she couldn't pull away. She felt relieved as Sparrowtail stepped back and the pain faded.
Another cat steeped forward, she had ice blue eyes and white fur. Frostwhisker. The name flashed through her mind like she already knew it.
"With this life I give you love, use it to give love to all your cats, especially your loved ones." Frostwhisker mewed, and touched her nose to Ravensight's forehead.
Ravensight braced herself for pain, and was surprised when she felt a Worthing feeling. Like having a full belly and laying in the sunlight. And she was slightly disappointed when Frostwhisker pulled away and another cat stepped up.
"I am Ghostclaw from ShadowClan, and with this life I give you strength, may you use it in the best way." He touched his nose to her, and Ravensight felt like she had the strength of a badger, and that she could fight a whole Clan of warriors. She hadn't had time to recover when the fourth cat stepped up. Opalsky, her mind spoke again.
Opalsky smiled at Ravensight, her golden pelt shining from the sunlight. "With this life I give you beauty, for you can find it in everything."
As Opalsky touched Ravensight, she felt a small breeze ruffle her fur and she smelled honey.
"Hello, daughter." Ravensight smiled at the cat who took Opalsky's place. The words were stuck in her throat. Heartspot... Mother... I missed you...
"I know. I miss you too." Heartspot meowed. "With this life I give you honor, use it to put your Clan above all things." She touched noses with Ravensight and suddenly she felt like protecting her Clan more than she ever did before.
The next lives she got was justice from Lynxstream, pride from Junglepaw, and energy from Sparkclaw. Her paws felt heavy and she wanted to collapse. But her heart lifted as she saw the next cat step forward. It was her father, Swiftleap, the one she named her Clan after.
"My daughter, I am so proud if you." Swiftleap meowed, pride shining in his blue eyes.
"And I am proud of you being proud." Ravensight purred.
He smiled back and touched his nose to hers. "With this life, I give you openness. Take those you love into your heart." A spark went through her body and she felt like she was drowning, on fire, and being struck by lightning all at the same time.
Her legs wobbled as her father slid back to the crowd of nine cats.
Darkness filled her vision as they started cheering. "Ravenstar! Ravenstar! Ravenstar!" But even though it was only few cats, it sounded as if all of StarClan was yowling. But a voice broke through all the noise.
"Beware Ravenstar. Darkness will destroy all the Clans unless you can stop the hunger that drives cats mad." Ravenstar recognized her father's voice as though he was speaking in her ear. The grass vanished beneath her paws and was replaced by stone.
No! Tell me more! What is the hunger? She screamed in her mind, but it was over, she blinked open her eyes and found herself in the Moonstone cave.
"Are you okay Ravenstar?" Shyflower pressed against her leader, helping her to her paws.
No. "Yes." Ravenstar mewed and shook out her fur. "Let's get back to camp.
I need to make sure they are okay. Ravenstar and Shyflower left the Moonstone cave and headed home, the prophecy rang in her ears, darkness will destroy all the Clans unless you can stop the hunger that drives cats mad.
