Akiel roamed the streets of New York City on a clear Sunday night, the smell of alcohol filled the air as he was soon near the bars. There were various sounds and smells Akiel had gotten used to since he was a kid growing up in the city, as there were people of different backgrounds and just crazy things happening everyday really. However if there was one thing Akiel had learned from growing up here it was one thing, you never stuck your nose in someone's business, it was the difference between walking away with a bullet in your head or walking away with a black eye; most people prefer the latter option.

Akiel kept his head low whilst walking through alleys, the walls he passed covered with various tags from wannabe gangsters and delinquents, also most could argue they are one in the same. It had been ten years now, ten years since Akiel first became addicted to the drug known as "The Cat", a drug known to cause people to feel as if they are floating on a cloud. The fact that it was called "The Cat" made no sense to most but then again most people didn't really give a shit when it was a cheap drug that made them feel good for once. He had spent countless dollars on the drug and couldn't bare to be separated from it, he had lost friends due to his addiction and even got caught up in a gang called "Street Warriors" to get money for the drug. After some tedious walking, nearly four miles, Akiel reached his destination. A run down docking warehouse, one room was lit up with a light but that isn't where he wanted to go. If he wanted the good stuff, he'd have to go to the building over and knock four times on the door whilst mumbling "black kitty meows at dawn". It seemed stupid but in this day and age could you blame the dealers for being so cautious? Cops were on their ass 24/7.

Walking over to the door, Akiel had knocked four times whilst mumbling "black kitty meows at dawn" it was then the door opened and a man wearing an over sized hoodie asked Akiel "which deal?"
"Akiel" he had replied, Akiel wasn't much of a talker outside of his head.
"Come on in" the man motioned for Akiel to come inside
"No. I would rather wait here while you get the drug, unless that's a problem" the generated am ugly snare from the dealer, the snare quickly turned to a forced smile. Akiel knew that his dealer wouldn't do anything, he was an addict as well and needed the money for the more serious drugs the world had to offer, since Akiel was one of his only sources of income he couldn't just kill him off, Akiel usually used this to boss him around.
"Fine. Wait here then" the dealer snickered, walking inside. As the dealer walked inside Akiel saw something that had caught his attention, a black bracelet with a silver colored metal warped around it, on the center of it was where the metal designed a beautiful flower head.

Akiel had been admiring it for some time now, the dealer had finally returned, snapping his finger rapidly now to get Akiel out of his day dreaming state of staring at the bracelet "what are ya staring at? The wall?" He laughed for a short moment before Akiel shook his head.
"No, I'm staring at that....that bracelet it's fascinating" Akiel explained while still marveling at it inside of his head
"Oh that old thing? It's a piece of shit, no one wants it to be honest because no one can figure out how to put the damn thing on"
"I'll take it off your hands, how much for it?" Akiel cocked his head to the side, leaning against the door frame.
"Since I've been trying to sell it for almost two years now and not a single damned person will take it, I guess you can have it for free as long as I get my payment" Akiel jumped at the offer, digging inside of his pocket for the twenty dollar bill he had been keeping, once he had grasped it, he then handed it over to his dealer with excitement.
"Here ya go, I'll see you next time you come back for a fix" he chuckled, handing Akiel the powdery drug and the bracelet over to him before slamming the door shut in his face. Akiel pocketed both items and practically sprinted back home to his apartment, slamming the door shut behind him and hopping into bed once he realized how late it was.
"I guess I can wait until tomorrow to test out the bracelet" he shrugged, pulling it out of his pocket and putting it in one of the headboard drawers.

Akiel soon drifted off to sleep, it was what waited for him inside of there that would be the beginning of a whole new life as he knew it.
