"What do you mean it won't come off?" The drug dealer known as Joey asked, a single brow raised
"I mean exactly what I said Joey, it WON'T come off. I tried everything I could to take it off, I tried using a bandsaw for Christ sake" Akiel replied, running his fingers along the bracelet, it was smooth like silk but stronger than steel, it almost seemed to be of alien origin. Joey gawked at Akiel, his mouth wide open, eyes full of disbelief
"A bandsaw?!" Joey rubbed his eyes, looking down, it was hard to process as Akiel was still figuring it out. After a few moments of awkward silence, Jory's gravely voice filled the cold room with warmth, despite the warm voice, the message was anything but "I can't help you, I'm sorry Akiel. This thing, whatever it is, it seems to not wanna come off of you. I got it from this man I sold some cats tongue to. He was clad in black, I'll give you the best description of him I can". Joey's description of the man was a figure standing about 6'8 with a lean build, a heavy African accent and scars along his body.
"Is that all?" Akiel questioned, his voice was like daggers piercing into flesh as anger boiled up inside of him 'Panther, find the fur of the panther. This man does not contain the information you require, the only way is through me' pain rushed through his head, as if his brain was swelling under pressure.
"Are you....okay?" Joey asked worriedly as Akiel had started to hold his head, reaching his hand out to put in Akiel's shoulders "it's gonna be okay, we'll find a way to get this damned thing off of you, I promise" Akiel stood up, walking over to the door.
"Bye, Joey" he muttered, exiting the warehouse for the last time.Akiel sat on his couch for awhile, watching various tv channels to keep himself entertained. He would occasionally glance over at the bracelet. It wasn't long before the news channel had bored Akiel to sleep, his eyes feeling weighted, sure, he fought but it wasn't much use as he soon found himself in another land of nightmares. 'Find it, save us, save us" heat rushed over his body, the plains of Africa tinted a brilliant orange and yellow. Rocks pressing into his feet as he stalked the beasts through the weeds. 'You are a hunter, a predator after his prey. YOU ARE THE PANTHER' sounds of tribal music and laughter filled the rather beautiful landscape as the plains cut to a village. Fire burned in the heart of the village, numerous tribal folk celebrated, children danced around the red flames. Their tiny bodies casting shadows upon the dirt, dancing in the night of the hunt. 'You are KING, you must save your people. Save us, save us' the fire blew up, spewing flames everywhere, as the fire blew up a voice could be heard 'SAVE US'.
Akiel sprung up from his bed, his breath quickened, sweat covering his body from head to toe. He closed his eyes, taking deep breaths and thinking everything over "save us" he muttered in confusion. Eyes now open, something soon caught Akiel's attention, the sheets were shredded to pieces on the left side of his bed. "What the hell...." It wasn't just the sheets that were shredded, the mattress springs stuck out of the bed, pieces of mattress adorned the bed. He furrowed his brows in confusion as he examined the shredded bed, it was almost as if it had been torn by a cat of some sort. He checked his left wrist only to see the bracelet, it seemed as if it was molded to his skin, no air room between the skin and the piece of jewelry. 'Find the fur of the panther' a voice echoed inside of his head, distorted and broken.
