Mizumi never understood her life. With the constant changing lifestyle, who would? Her birth parents that left her to their close friends, her second pair of parents. Running from her second pair of parents at a young age. Getting sent to an orphanage and getting adopted by her third set of parents. Her third set of parents were the ones she spent the most time with. 9 years. And being them meant being with their family. Aka, aunts, uncles, and... grandparents.
She never got along with her "grandpa", mostly because he didn't like the way she called her siblings her siblings. He also didn't like Mizumi herself. Her current parents began as a loving family before they took a drug, a drug meant for Mizumi herself. This drug made them hallucinate and... became rather abusive parents, not that Mizumi really blamed them.
And her grandfather disliked her since the beginning. He was the owner of a company that was doing fairly well ever since his take-over and he wanted to have an heir. Now that his only son was out of commission, it meant either it was given to Mizumi or one of his underdogs. And anyone who knew him knew he hated almost everyone who didn't share his blood so he wasn't about to hand over his company to anyone unless he thought they were good enough.
Meaning one thing, he enjoyed testing people for their worth. And of course, it was finally Mizumi's turn to get tested.Mizumi listened to her grandpa for a few minutes, itching to press the END button and shut him up. Of course, she didn't need to because he had an "important meeting" to attend to and didn't have the "time or energy" to deal with her "lack of life". He never did and the way he stated it made her yell in frustration, throwing her phone to the far side of the room. "I hate my life!"
"Mizumi?" Haruhi asked,
Mizumi sighed and just walked to Haruhi's room, dropping onto the bed. "Sorry, it was nothing. I'm going to sleep now..."Mizumi woke up early. About 4 something and was itching to do something. She got out of the bed and took a shower first. Of course, the fresh wound on her arm reminded her of something and she sunk deeper into the water. After a few minutes, she clothed her self and pulled her fingers through her hair, lazily combing her damp hair before pulling it into a ponytail.
Chizaru used to tell her it would give her headaches and she shouldn't do that, but Mizumi really didn't care anymore. She simply turned on the stove and began to cook. She wasn't a beginner in the field and was proud of the breakfast and lunch she made. She finished packing her lunch and left everything else for Haruhi and her father's enjoyment before grabbing her phone, that still lay at the far corner of the living room, and her bag, that she left next to the door, before heading out without a care in the world.Mizumi sat in class, her eyes trained on the teacher for once. Surprisingly, she was even wrote notes. Usually, she'd look around and barely pay attention but then again, it's not like they knew her that well. Kyoya and Tamaki were the ones who thought they knew her but of course, they didn't either.
'Fuck this... This is so stupid! The hell they mean they know what they're talking about!' Mizumi inwardly cursed. She heard the bell ring and she stood up with the rest of the class. She grabbed her bag, where she shoved her lunch in, and walked to Haruhi's class.
Haruhi looked up and smiled, "Hey Mizumi."
"Hi, Haruhi." she greeted, sitting down in the seat in front of her. She turned so she was facing her friend, her body towards the window. "I need you to pass on a message for me. I won't be going to the host club for a few days."
Haruhi blinked as she ate some food. "Oh, ok. Why?"
Mizumi opened her bag and pulled out her lunch. Opening the box, she plopped some food into her mouth with her fingers. "I have a life, unlike them. Oh, thanks for letting me stay over, too. One more thing. Do you mind dropping by the cafe and telling Lisa and Rumi that I have something I have to do and won't show for a while?"
"Sure." Haruhi nodded, blinking.
Mizumi finished her food before shoving her stuff back into her bag and standing, bidding Haruhi goodbye. "Well, see you."Mizumi walked towards the large building. "Here goes nothing." she opened the doors and the first thing she saw was a man. The man stared back at her with hard eyes and Mizumi simply glared back. "Hello, grandpa."
"Mizumi." he greeted with hints of annoyance he didn't try to conceal.
She didn't conceal her annoyance either. She smiled bitterly and said, "What do you want from me this time?"
And his reply made Mizumi chill. She walked past him and said, "Consider it done."
