Whatever might happen
I kept myself steady
I dived headfirst
Even though I wasn't ready
Bare and unarmed
I felt betrayed and cheated
In battle he seized victory
And I was easily defeated
The odds were against me
As I rushed towards destruction
Listed as dead
I was killed in action
He took the prize
And took you away
The battle was lost
And foolishly I thought you'd stay
In the battlefield called love
I lose and he won
And it'll forever haunt me
No matter how far I run
