Chapter 6

New development

"What's going on?" I asked my group of friends, who were still hissing loudly. They all stopped whispering, and turned to look at me, they're eyes full of worry. "Ummm... you might want to sit down, Nadia," explained Raphy. I looked at the empty seat next to Eloise, and sat slowly, worry building up inside me. It was silent for a long time, and I grew nore and more impatient by the second. "Is someone going to tell me what's going on, or are we just going to sit here all day?" I asked. Everyone looked at each other, akwardly, until Eloise cleared her throat. "Well, you know we went out to scavage for more stuff to keep the girls ocupide?" asked Eloise. She spoke slowly, as if she was talking to a small child. "Yeah," I answered quickly. "Well we noticed an increase in the amount of zombies there were out on the street. We used to see, what, twenty on a trip. Well last time we saw about fourty. This time we saw about seventy. It's geting worse and worse." Eloise spat the truth out, and looked at me nervously. It tooke me a miniute or so to absorb the new information. How are we going to clear the whole of Eastbourne? Hardly any of the girls could fight, and we would definatly need more fighters. People who had experience. We needed Duncan and the rest of the crew. "Ok, we need to go to Bristol, and get the guys. We'll have more of a chance of surviving with the rest of the crew," I explained my plan quickly. If this was as serious as they were making it out to be, then we needed to act, fast. "Hang on, aren't you hearing us! It's getting worse. We can't just go and throw ourselves into the snakepit like that!!" shouted Lucy, her face full of anger. "It's probably just as bad in Bristol as it is here!" I considered her argument. The room was deadly silent, and everyones eyes were darting from Lucy to me, Lucy to me."I'm not leaving Duncan and the rest of my friends. I've know them all my life. Like you, they are practicaly my family. I won't leave them to die," I explained through cleenched teeth. Lucy looked horrified. "WE HAVE EVREYONE WE NEED. Why do you need these people so badly, huh?" She shouted, before standing suddenly and walking round to me. "There is no way we are risking our lives for people we don't even know!" She boomed on, stabing her finger in my face I stood suddenly, unable to contain my anger anmore. " I love them. They have always been there for me!" I boomed out, now over-towering Lucy. "You have us don't you. Just let Duncan and your Yogscast group thing go already!" She shouted, her eyes alight with anger. "I LOVE DUNCAN AND I WON'T LEAVE HIM TO DIE!!" I practicaly screamed this out, and Eloise and Raphy jumped up quickly to stand in the middle of me and Lucy. Jasmine and Alexandra looked absoloutly horrified. "Stop!" demanded Raphy. Lucy stood down immediatly, as did I. "We don't know what it's like in Bristol yet, do we? Nadia, phone Duncan." Raphy instucted me, calmly. I walked back into the bedroom and pulled my phone off the docking station. How could I have been so stupid. Screaming out that I loved Duncan. He probably only missed me in a friendly way. Why was I being so stupid. I sighed loudly before walking back to the tanble in the main room.

"I pushed the call button and put the call on loud speaker. "Hello again," a familiar voice answered the phone. "Hi Duncan. You're on Loudspeaker by the way, and everyone here is listening," I explained quickly, trying not to let any thoughts of admoration for Duncan come into my mind. "Oh ok," his tone changed quite suddenly."Hellooo everyone," he greeted all the girls quickly, clearly realising how serious my voice was. "Do my group need to hear this, Nadia?" Duncan asked me. "Yeah get them all together and put your phone on loudspeaker, but make it quick please," I instructed. The phoce cracked slightly as it was put against a hard surface of some kind. "Yogs... get here now!! Nadia needs us!" boomed Duncan. The sound was muffled and very quite through the phone, but I knew he was shouting. A few seconds latter and multiple voices were talking to me. The voices of my family.

" We've noticed an increase in the number of zombies about. It used to be in the twenties. Now it's in the seventies. And that's just in the area we were in! We wanted to know if there was anything similar going on where you are," explained Eloise, slowly. The sound of muffled whispers poured out from the phone. " No, none of us have noticed an increase like that. Infact, it seemed to be going down," replied Lewis. " Hang on a second guys," I looked round the table at my friends. "There's nothing like what's happening here there. We need to go and get them and start clearing the town. Today," I whispered quickly. Everyone looked at Lucy. "Lucy... what do you think?" asked Raphy. Lucy nodded. I smiled at her before turning back to the phone, to tell Duncan we were coming to get him.
