***Darcy's POV***

I opened my eyes and smacked my blaring alarm clock as hard as I could. No. It can't be morning. Not yet. I rub all the gross junk that's in my eyes in the morning out, and throw off my duvet. I go downstairs and start making my breakfast. As I poor my cereal, I start tingling everywhere, and everything starts turning white. My head starts getting really light. Somewhere, I could faintly hear my name being called.

"Darcy, sit down!" I feel myself being laid down. Everything comes back into focus, and the tingling and lightness stops. Marcel is looking over me, with a concerned look on his face. "What happened, Darcy? You were going to pass out!" I sit up, and rub my eyes.

"I'm fine, Marcel. I probably just stood up too quickly." I didn't want to tell him that this isn't the first time it's happened. My head is pounding, so I grab to Advil and pop them in my mouth as I chug some water. I've had headaches for the past month, but I think it's just all the stress with getting ready for school and all that. Marcel watches me, I guess making sure I don't almost faint again.

"I'm fine, Marcel. Really." I say as I sit down at the table. I push the cereal box towards him as he slowly nods.

After I finish eating, I trudge my way to the shower. I am not a morning person, obviously. After I finish showering, I put on my favourite outfit, which is dark jean high-waisted shorts, with a high-low bright pink shirt. I brush out my curly brown hair. It goes down almost to my waist, and it's my favourite part of myself. I grab some pink flats and my school iPad (yay!) and head back downstairs where Marcel on some computer program. He's not one of those guys who knows nothing about computers, he actually can do anything on one. So am I, and we both want to major in computer science. I want to work for Apple and he wants to create his own company. I swing my keys.

"Are you coming today?" I ask Marcel. He logs off and nods, grabbing his iPad. We head out to our car, and since he's injured, I get in the driver's seat. I think Marcel could have every broken bone possible and he'd still come to school. Me on the other hand, I'm a good student, I just don't like it. Insert awkward smile.

As we walk into my school, Angel, Brittany, and Courtney swarm around me and Marcel.

"Darcy! Why didn't you come to school all day yesterday?" Angel asks. I shake her off my arm.

"I had to take my brother, Marcel, to the doctor." I emphasise brother. Angel and Courtney gasp and back away.

"You actually hang with him?!" Courtney spats.

"Yes. Problem?" I say back. Brittany just stands there watching the whole thing unfold.

"Well, we don't associate with his kind, so-" I cut Angel off.

"So I have to choose between you or my brother? Easy. Marcel, I'm sorry you had to see this. Lets go." I march off, but Brittany grabs my arm. She mouths "I'm sorry" and I shoot her a grateful look. Looks like I might still have one friend. Marcel keeps his head down as we head to Chemistry. I sit down at my desk, which is behind Marcel's and put my head down.

"Sorry," he mumbles. I sit back up.

"Don't be. If they were really my friends, they wouldn't have done that." I begins massage my temples because I can hear the pounding in my head.

"Are you sure you're okay?" He asks. I smile sweetly.

"Yes, Marcel. Just another headache."

"You've had one every day this month!" He half-yells.

"Hey guys! Am I interrupting something?"

***Marcel's POV***

We look up at Katie, who's looking perfect again. Her wavy brown hair cascades down her back, and her blue eyes look at us with concern.

"Katie! Yes everything's fine. Marcel's just overreacting over my little headache." She shoots me a glare as she hugs Katie. I roll my eyes.

"Oh, okay. Hey, Marcel! How are you?" Katie says as she sits at her desk, which happens to be next to mine. Wait, did she just talk to me? Pretty girls don't talk to me!

Okay, she's looking at me, she definitely spoke to me.

"H-hello K-Katie. I'm f-fine, th-thanks for a-asking." I stutter and my voice goes high, like usual. I normally have a fairly deep voice, until people like her talk to me. So not very often. She smiles again, wow her smile is gorgeous. I haven't felt like this since Georgia Rose. I lose my eyes and see her laughing as she jumps off the high dive at our old neighbourhood pool. Just then, the bell rings and more students and our teacher come in.

"Good morning, class." Mr. Hefterly says. I emerge myself in learning until lunch.

I look down at my school lunch, which looks horrendous, and sit down at my usual table. I open my book, A Midsummer's Night Dream by Shakespeare, and begin to eat. I'm so engulfed that I don't hear someone sit down across from me.

"That's my favourite Shakespeare book! Have you read it before?"

I drop my fork into my peas and jump. I set my book down and Katie Horan's face smiles at me.

"What are you doing here?" I whisper. "You're running your chance to be popular. Everyone's gonna make fun of you if they see you here!" Her smile is replaced with a frown.

"Marcel do you not want me to talk to you? Because I want to be friends. I get it if you're too cool for me, though." She smirks and I state at her. She wants to be friends? "So back to the book, have yo read it before?" I smile makes it's way onto my face.

"Yes, however, I personally prefer Macbeth." She smiles and nods. We continue to talk about Shakespeare's great works, but the she changes the subject.

"Is Darcy normally that pale?" I glance down, and shake my head.

"No, and she's had intense headaches for a month. She almost passed out this morning, and she doesn't know this, but I know it's happened before. I'm worried about her, because I don't think this is stress." I can't believe I just opened up to her like that. I've known her like what, a day? She just nods.

"If this keeps up, she should get checked out. My uncle had something like this. It turned out to be nothing, but the doctor said it was good he came, because it could've been something much worse." She sighs and shakes her head. Then, as if the conversation never happened, she looks up and smiles. I realise why as Darcy sits down. She doesn't look like she's here.

"Darcy, are you okay?" I ask. She quickly snaps back into reality.

"Yeah, yeah, just peachy. I've had trouble focusing today." Darcy smiles and digs into her food. Katie's eye's grow wide, and I'm confused. Does she know something I don't?
