The sun shone over Inc's face as he walked home, first day of school, certainly wasn't the worst out of all the others. The faint memory of accidentally setting the school on fire crossed his mind. The mysterious thing about that, was that there had been nothing to start the fire; it had just appeared out of thin air.

Inc arrived home to the smell of his mum's homemade chicken casserole. The fiery embers which cooked the food mesmerised Inc, sometimes if he just concentrated hard enough the flames burnt the mere edges of the pastry. It was probably just his imagination though. Surely.
The next few hours turned to a confusing blur as Inc went over what had happened during the day. This...Mr. Lucem seemed very interested in him, his eyes seemed to search through Inc's mind like a well organised file cabinet.
Then Inc remembered when Mr Lucem walked in there was a flash of red under his brown faded jacket. It seemed to have an unearthly glow, but Inc didn't take any notice of it then until now. Every time Mr Lucem walked forward it would illuminate. The memory started to fade as Inc's eyes began to close.

Light rays pierced through Inc's curtains which brought him to consciousness. Inc dressed up and dashed downstairs to down his breakfast, running out the door without consulting anyone. Inc was craving to learn more about this unpredictable and mysterious teacher that he had met.
When Inc arrived at the gates, he still had no one to talk to but that didn't phase him at all. The mumbling voices of his classmates were addressed as background noise while Inc studied Mr Lucem's face. Suddenly, Mr Lucem's face darted at Inc's and Inc immediately turned away. "Inc, do you have something to ask me?" Mr Lucem asked with his usual raspy voice.
The class chuckled in low voices at Inc's embarrassment. The usual feeling of his cheeks heating up didn't come this time, but from his hands. He looked to his desk to see sparks dancing on his hands. Confusion immediately met Inc's face as he had registered what he had seen. "What did you see newbie? A ghost?" shouted one of the students mockingly.
The class erupted in laughter but Mr Lucem sat in his seat as if oblivious to what was happening. The same glow appearing. Inc had had enough and stood up, hands clamped on the table. Not for long as the smell of smoke met him from the table. His eyes shifted to the desk and as Inc lifted his hands, scorch marks plastered the table.
This had got Mr Lucem's attention "Inc! Out now!!" He bellowed, Inc was shocked at how quickly his mood had changed. Without processing his surroundings, Inc just stormed out waiting for Mr Lucem to tell him off.
His mind a jumble of thoughts; how had that even happened. Was that a spark he had seen or was that a trick of the eye. It had never happened before. Next school here we come.
"Inc you are not in trouble, you need to know something..." A voice appeared breaking Inc's concentration.
