The next morning I wake up and see a note on the fridge:

"Raven,
Went out for breakfast. Be back in an hour.
-TT"

"Finally some peace and quiet." I say to myself.
Only a second goes by when I hear him... Slade.

"Hello, Raven," He says emerging from a shadowed corner. "My, how long has it been, a whole year?"

"What do you want from me, Slade?!" I practically spit the words at him as I turn around.

"Oh, it isn't I who wants something from you. I come only to deliver a message from your father, Trigon... Are you aware of the prophecy, my dear child?"

"I think you know the answer to that."

"Just in case, let me recite it for you;

'The Gem was born of evil's fire,
The Gem shall be his portal,
He comes to claim, he comes to sire,
The end of all things mortal!'

My advice for you, child, is to come with me and your father, because we wouldn't want him to have to use you to destroy your fellow Titans and then yourself, now would we? So, what will it be? Join us in return for your life, or sacrifice yourself for your friends even though it is inevitable that they will perish?"

"I will NEVER join Trigon!" I shout at the top of my lungs so loud that my throat becomes sore.

"Very well. But remember that this was your decision when you are forced to murder your friends."

He vanishes into the darkness.

I go to my room, shutting the door behind me and fall to the ground. I've never been this terrified. Now it doesn't matter whether I control my emotions or not; my father is still coming. And even if I sacrifice myself the Titans die anyway. I figure there is no use in trying anymore so I don't fight the tears when they come.
