"MARINETTE!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" The said girl woke up startled by Tikki's voice, almost falling out of the bed.

"Tikki! Don't scare me like that!" Marinette said, laughing slightly.

"Sorry! But it's your birthday! And besides, you're going to be late for school again if you don't hurry!" Tikki said, flying around the girl, head.

"W-What?! Why didn't you wake me up earlier?!" Marinette whined in horror, taking the covers off her body and started getting ready.

After she was done dressing herself, she brushed her hair and decides to do a single ponytail instead of two and smiled at the mirror, before brushing her teeth.

Entering her room again, she got her bag and her backpack before going down to the kitchen.

"Honey! Happy birthday!" Sabine said as she saw Marinette walking down the stairs already dressed and ready for school.

"Oh, thanks mom!" She replied and giggled a little when her mom showered her with kisses and hugs.

"Now, here's your lunch, your favorite, and have a good day okay? I won't keep you longer since you're already late for school, but dad also wished you a happy birthday and we love you lots yeah?" Sabine said, giving her daughter a warm smile, which the girl returned while taking the little bento box in her hands

"Yes, I know. Thank you mom. Tell dad I love him too okay? I love you mama. See you later." She said, waving a little before walking out of the door with a small smile on her face.

Yes, it was Marinette's 16th birthday. She was a little tired, since (like all of the past years) she and her family stayed up until midnight to wish her a happy birthday. Some familiars had called her, as well as Alya and she had received a few messages from her friends. Just the usual.

When she got to school, she saw Alya in the stairs with Nino, waiting for her and probably Adrien.

A small blush appeared on her cheeks at the thought of the boy. Would he wish her a happy birthday? Probably not... Heck, he probably doesn't even know it's her birthday!

Sighing slightly, she started walking towards her friends when a loud voice made her stop.

Looking over to the sound of the voice, she spotted Kim and Max walking up to her, both with friendly smiles.

"Happy birthday Mari!" They said at the same time, and she smiled, thanking them.

"You're turning 16, right?" Max asked her and she nodded her head. "Ahah, you're older than him!" He laughed, pointing at Kim who frowned at him.

"Well, she's also older than you, idiot." He growled, crossing his arms.

"But at least I admit I may look younger than her. You probably think you look 20 years older than all of us." Max retorted also crossing his arms and raised an eyebrow.

Before Kim could answer, Marinette let out a loud laugh, making the two boys look at her confused.

"It honestly doesn't matter if I'm older or not! Kim totally looks older than me and Max also doesn't look that much younger." She shrugged, smiling at the boys and they laughed as well.

Waving goodbye to one another, she thanked them again before start walking towards Alya and Nino again.

"Gurl! Happy birthday!" Alya yelled, pulling Marinette into a bone crushing hug. The other girl gasped for air, widening her eyes and Nino laughed.

"Alya, I think you're breaking her." He informed her, but she just shrugged, before squeezing Marinette once more and pulled away after.

"W-Wow, Alya, t-thanks for that!" The girl mumbled, a slight pained expression on her face but she still managed to smile.
