Our Unusual Love

Chapter 2

I woke up right the moment that I fell asleep. I paced around my room trying to figure out why I woke up at that time. Impatiently, I laid in bed and then tried to fall back asleep. The moment I fell asleep, I saw him again, in my dreams.

Did he seriously have magic to make me feel this way? I woke up in a pool of sweat and my heart was pounding a mile a second. What strange feeling is this?

I went out to the balcony and found Cheng sunbae there as well, she was looking over the stars, I walked up to her and she didn't seemed surprised to see me

"Sunbae, what does the word sarang mean?" I asked her and she looked at me with a knowing stare

"It's better if you don't know what it is" she said and looked back up at the stars, I must admit, there are still many things that I don't know about this society, or this world.

Heck I don't even know why I trained all those years.

"What is the history between our kind and the humans?" I tried asking again and this time she gave out a sigh

She walked towards the two chairs at the corner of the balcony and motioned me to follow her. I followed her and we both took seats.

"First, let me tell you this, what they've been telling, us like, we only have 3 emotions, don't believe that. If you believe that, you'll only get more confused. Secondly, there are emotions that we can feel but we're not allowed to show them because if you show them, you become human" Cheng unnie said as she closed her eyes like she was meditating on something

"Why is that it seems there are wars between humans and us?" I asked and she looked at me with a gentle gaze

"There aren't wars but, there are just somethings that aren't to be" she replied, but now, she's looking at the stars

"Those dancing guys, how long have you known them?" I asked changing the topic

"I don't actually remember, but they're a group who started promoting about 4 years ago I think?" She said and I just nodded my head, I looked up at the sky and realized that it's already time for the sunrise

I watched as the sky changed slowly from dark indigo to a brighter sky with streaks of pink, red, orange and yellow.

"Anyways..." she said and continued the tale on why human rules don't apply to us, she just finished telling the story when I got a note saying that there was another disturbance and I am the one who was chosen to monitor it.

Cheng and I bid our farewells before splitting up to go on our separate duties.

I narrated the entire history in my head. The history which seemed to narrate every single detail of the past. The history that was really different from what I learned in the past but seemed to apply more than what I learned while growing up.

So, ever since, this has been the law. No exemptions. But they teach the youth that we only have 3 emotions and it's up to us to decide if we want to give in to the other emotions that have been unknown to us.

So all those emotions which I thought didn't exist to us, actually exist. So the world I live in, everything I had been fighting for are all lies? Are they really false information passed onto us? What is love? What is jealousy? What other things have been hidden from us since we were young? What is love? Why does the past seem so contrary with the present, other fairies also fell for humans and why isn't that allowed anymore?

Love between humans and guardians are forbidden since guardians hold the secrets of the kind. For fairies, it's actually a different story, they just give up on being fairies and turned human for those who they love.
