Carter's P.O.V
*a week later*
I've been sitting on my bed this whole week staring at the broken glass. I haven't eaten or had a drop of water since last week.
I hear the latter drop and someone walks up. "Carter, please talk to us." Cameron begs, I burst into tears and she wraps her arms around me, "it's ok!" "No it's not!" I scream at her.
"There's a plate of food behind you, try and eat ok? I don't want you starving yourself. Just please? Eat?" Cameron pleads. I nod and she hugs me. "Want me to stay with you?" She asks, I can hear the worry in her voice.
I nod and she hands me the plate. I look at it. Bacon, a whole plate of bacon, piled up. "You know me so well." I grin. I wholf down the bacon, she hugs me one last time before running down the latter.
I stare at the glass, she said to eat and not starve....... She never said not to do self harm. I get up and grab a piece of glass, put it against my wrist and slide across. I feel all the weigh fly off my shoulders. I put a band aid on it and go down stairs.
I skip down the hall and stop at the living room. There on the floor are Cassie and Caleb playing Halo! Halo is our game! We all have a game we play together and OUR game is Halo!
The plate slips from my hand and shatters on the floor. Cassie and Caleb look over and see me. Cassie's eyes grow wide, and she gets up. I run upstairs and grab my black skinny jeans, white t-shirt, a black beanie Harry gave me and my black vans. I slip it all on and grab my skateboard. I go downstairs and run outside, I text mom that I'm going out. I grab my guitar and skate away.
*2 hours later*
I walk down the trail, I look around and stop at a small lake. I climb some rocks and sit down, there's a small waterfall and some fish. I set the guitar on my lap, and then start playing 'Since U Been Gone' by Kelly Clarkson.

I stop playing and set the guitar down. Then I hear a gasp, I look across the lake and see a girl about my age standing there. She runs to me and sits down, "Hi! I'm Sophie!" She grins, "I'm Carter!" I smile, " I heard you singing! You are amazing!" She squeals, "wanna sing a duet?" She asks, I nod, "lets sing..........'cups' it's short!" She giggles, I nod.
"I got my ticket for the long way round"
"Two bottle whiskey for the way"
"And I sure would like some sweet company"
"Cause I'm leaving tomorrow what do ya say?"

We burst out laughing and then we hug. "That was fun!" I chuckle. Then she hands me a piece of paper, "call me! bye cutie!" She grins as she runs off. I grab my guitar and run down the path.
I hop on my skateboard and ride home.
I get home and plop down on the couch, I pull out my phone and put in Sophie's number.

I put my phone down and go up to my room.
I climb up the latter and Cassie and Caleb are sitting on my bed. "Guys can you go? I'm meeting up with someone." I ask annoyed. "Carter you can't stay mad at us forever!" Cassie snaps. "Watch me." I smirk evilly as I grab my jacket.
I walk downstairs and see mom and dad snuggling on the couch. "Am I chop liver?" I ask, they look at me and they jump up. Mom tackles me into a hug. Dad joins the hug, "where were you, love? And why are you wearing my hat?" I deep voice asks, I turn and see Harry. "First I was out exploring and you have me this hat!" I laugh.
I turn to mom, "can I go visit the orphanage?" "Sure!" I run outside and fans are all covering our yard. Of course. Paul guides me through the crowd, I hop in the car and he drives me to the orphanage.
I step through the doors and Mrs. Donna runs to me. "I knew you would come back! We have a family that wants to adopt you!" She cheers. I freeze, she grabs me and drags me to a family. "Hi! We can't wait to take you to America with us!" The mom says. America! No!
I run to Paul. "Get me out of here!" I screech. He pulls me out and we run to the car. He makes it first, while I get caught. I'm dragged to another car and brought to an airport.
I dial mom's number and after the 2nd ring she answers.
"Hey honey!" She says with glee
"Mommy?" I ask in panic
"Sweetie what is it?!" She asks worried.
"Help me....... Mrs. Donna told me I was being adopted by an....... American family!" I whisper yell.
"What?! It's ok hun I'm coming!" She screams.
I hang up. She's coming. Thank god.
