Delani's P.O.V
"That was bomb," I say as we walk hand in hand out of the restaurant.
"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
"Sometimes I wonder about you, ya know. I mean you're not old yet but you sure as hell act like it."
He rolls his eyes, "It's not my fault I don't understand your slang."
"Whatever. Bomb means like good, awesome, amazing etcetera (etc)."
"Oh, so I can say like you look bomb in that dress?"
"Yeah, see you got it." I say as Abel's car pulls up.
"So I can say your hair looks bomb?"
"Yes," I nod as the vallet guy hands Abel the keys.
He opens the door for me and I get in. He walks over to the other side and gets in, "So I can--"
"I think you get the concept." I say interrupting him.
"I'm gonna start saying that now."
"What, no. That's my thing." I frown.
"We'll make it our thing."
I roll my eyes, "You just wanna be like me."
"Of course." He says and grabs my hand.
"So spring break is coming up."
"Yeah in like what three weeks?" He says and starts driving.
I nod, "Yeah. We should do something."
He looks at me briefly before facing the road.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, why not?" I shrug.
"I just... I think that maybe we should take....things....a little slow." He says nervously.
I mean I can see why he said that. But it'll be three weeks from now. It's not like I'm saying we should go somewhere this week or anything.
"What do you mean by slow?" I ask.
"Like... I don't know....just take things a little slowly." He looks at me and sees the look in my face.
Which wasn't a very happy face.
"No, no, no, not like that baby I mean I don't want to rush anything. I want us to slowly get back to how we used to be."
"So are you saying that we can't like do anything."
"Well I mean it depends on what you mean by anything. I think it's the best if you don't sleep over my house for a while you know. And for us to not go on anything trips either. And not I guess be intimate with each other like how we used to."
"But you just said you want to get back to how we used to be. So shouldn't that mean that--"
"I know, but I don't want to rush it."
I lean back in my seat and shrug, "Fine."
"Baby, don't be mad. I'm doing this for us." He says and brings my hand to his lips.
