"..... I think I am gonna lose this battle once again...."

~*~*Flashback*~*~

"Mom, I am scared"

"Don't be honey, it will all be alright, trust me"
My mom assured me hiding back her own tears and trying to keep me strong when I knew she was the one who needed to be comforted.

"But mom, all this scares me. I don't like monsters. What if they come and eat me?"

"No one can do anything when I am around, and you know that right?" She assured me as she caressed my forehead with her soft hands that had dark marks carved by the almost beast of our home. But those hands were always the only ones that concealed me in my worse.

"Now sleep sweetie, think about amazing things like angels, chocolates, candy and all the sweet things and forget about monsters. They aren't real"
She said as she looked deep inside my eyes. Those eyes were mesmerizing but were filled with water and tears which she tried her best to hide. But reality is never hidden.

I didn't knew if monsters were real or not, I was too immature to understand. But my mom surely knew a beast who had always let her down.

"Okay mom. I'll dream about you to help me sleep right" I mumbled with a sweet smile.

"Why me, princess?"

"Because you are my angel and I am sure you'll help me sleep right" I assured her making her realise that I would always be there for her when everyone else was against her, but in my own childish ways.

"You make me feel really blessed to have you around, moonlight. I love you" She said wiping a tear of joy off her face.

"I love you more, mommy. Good night. Sweet dreams" I mumbled slowly dozing off to sleep.

"Good night my little one." She said placing a soft kiss on my forehead.

She headed towards the door and slowly shut it behind her.

I knew what was going to happen...

~*~ *End Of Flashback*~*~

"Mom! Please don't go there. Mom!"

I yelled breaking up from my sleep. It was all so uncomfortable around me. I didn't feel better. Tiny droplets of sweat came down running down my cheeks. They were the proof that I was tensed, nervous and extremely terrified.

"Why mom? Why?" I mumbled to myself in the lowest tone possible. And breaking down.

"Fia! Fia! You up Honey? Get up soon dear, you have school today. I heard my mom calling my name from downstairs.

"Yea-Yeah mom. I am up. I'll be down soon" I replied.

As I was lost in my own thoughts, I felt a warm arm wrapping me.

I instantly knew who it was.

" Again, little Fia?"

"Yes Mark, unfortunately yes. I don't know how, but it just-"

"Shhh... I know Fia, don't worry, it'll be okay, don't cry. You're my little brave sister after all"

"Wait what? Did u just call me Fia?" I asked surprisingly.

"Haha, oops I did? Sorry. Haha, then Bunny it is" He said with a huge grin.

"That sounds better" I said with a huge- huge smile too.

"How about you go to your badminton classes now and later we can carry on with our weekend tradition? We can have ice-cream and movies and all that stuff after u return?"

"Ughh.. I don't want to go" I pouted tightening the hug.

"Bunny, fire them all in courts not me here. You know I can't let you stay. I want my little Bunny to win."

"Okayyyy. I'll leave. Clara's Ice- Cream-"

"Parlour, with the brown chipped chocolate fudge and extra cream." He interrupted me and completed the sentence.

He knew me really well.

"But later, okey dokey?" I stated mocking Mark's tone.

"You got that right. " He said with a huge grin that suited his absolutely amazing face.

"Okay, now get ready and come downstairs, breakfast is about to get ready" He stated as he wrapped me into a huge hug once again and later headed towards the door.

"Sure Mark. I'll be there in 15-20" I replied back.

"Good, love you" He said as he closed the door.

"Love you more!" I shot back.

Right now, those words of him comforted me more than anything else could.

Mark always knew how to cheer me up when I was having a bad day. I could rely upon him anytime and anywhere. I didn't want him to stay away from me, and so, it was me who insisted him to stay somewhere near after he was done with his school life. He knew me well, and so, without asking anything more, he started his further studies in Broadway itself.

I love him for this.

Although he usually visits us only during weekends, it never feels like he stays away for the rest of the 5 days.

And whenever he joins us during weekends, we enjoy our lives to the fullest. We hang around, have pillow fights, build castles, eat ice-cream and watch disney movies all day long. We just have the time of our lives.

I honestly don't know what I would do without him. He was the best companion every girl could ask for.
