I was in the hospital for about 5 weeks since the accident. they did tests on me and gave me medicine to take and "exercised" my brain. They made me do physical exercises too. Like walking, running and jumping.
Finally the said I could home but it was weird because I couldn't remember wait my house looks like so it's almost like I don't have one.
I was very cursory to see my house especially my room. While I was inn the hospital the doctors didn't want I overwhelm me with new faces and new people so only family was allowed to see me. So i still have a lot learn about myself.
When we got home there was a banner above the front door and it said in big blue block letters "Welcome Home Sarah". My mom had driven just me home, I guess everyone else was making this. I sadly didn't recognize my house. but it was two story's and there was a two car garage connected to the house. There was a big tree in te front yard with a swing attached to a limb. We walked in through the front door and just as I opened the door a bunch of people yelled "WELCOME HOME!"
I saw my family, Charlie and some other people. People came up to me and hugged me with smiles and laughter. I smiled and hugged them back acting like I knew them. I finally made my way threw the crowd of people and ended up next to Charlie.
"Hi" I said with a smile
"Hey" he said
I opened my mouth to say something but someone tapped on my shoulder. It was a girl that looked about my age. She gave me a hug and she had a big smile on her face.
"It's so good to see you again! I can't believe you were in that accident! it must have been scary?I had heard you lost your memory but I don't believe it. I mean how can you forgot who you and your best friends." She was talking a mile a minute.
"I'm really sorry but I don't really remember who you are. It's true. I lost my memory but I really wish I remembered you." I said hoping she wouldn't talk so fast when she answered.
She was silent for a moment. "Wow." was all she had said at first, "you don't have to apologize for losing your memory and my name is Carrie. Have you met anyone else?"
"Well besides my family and Charlie, no I haven't."
"Oh my gosh. I total forgot about Charlie. is he handling it well? He never really handles bad news well."
"Yeah, I think he's handling it ok. As far as I can tell he's been ok."
"Well, I think you should talk to him more. Cause when he found out you were in the hospital, he was so mad and upset and usually he's a sweetheart."
I turn my head to look at Charlie. He was talking to the twins, Dylan and Danny. "Wow" I said as I turned my head back to Carrie. "he must be Mr. Mysterious or something?" I said laughing
Carrie didn't say or do anything she just looked at me with her mouth wife open. "do you remember what we used to call Charlie?"
"No." I have no clue where she is going with this.
"Mr. Mysterious. are you sure you don't remember saying or hearing that?"
"Yeh I'm positive I don't remember that."
"Maybe you are remembering stuff and you don't even know it."
Maybe she was right, I could be recognizing an remember things without even knowing. So maybe my memory will come back but it will just take time.
