POV: Ryan Sanders

~~~~~
"No no no! You bastard!" i screamed launching my body at my horrid uncle. i do not even classify that monster as my family.
I knocked his gun from his hand before punching him continuously. "How could you not have a heart?" i yelled pausing my hits. He spit out blood and narrowed his eyes. "Its easy, Ryan. You should try it." he said with a raspy voice. "You basically just ripped out my heart and burned it." i yelled hitting him more.
He tried to fight back but i was too strong and he was old. I could see that over the ten years his hair had grayed an wrinkles covered his face. "Your old. Its my turn to some what win for once." i growled hitting him until there was no more ridged breathes coming from him. I stood, blood covering my hands as his face was disoriented, bloody and broken.
I took slow steps towards Fiona's body that laid still on the ground. The tears fought me and rolled down my face as i knelt beside her. i sobbed as i pulled her Ito my chest to hold her. "Im so so sorry, baby. im so sorry i couldn't protect you. This is my fault im sorry." i cried into her hair.
I finally heard the sirens behind me and the yelling of cops running to the scene. "Sit, get up with your hands up." one ordered. "I didnt shoot the gun. He shot her and everyone else i had ever loved." i told them. An officer forced me from Fiona and i crumpled into my self. "I need a medic! This girl is alive! Now now now!" he screamed applying pressure to her billet wound. I sat up quick and scrambled to her. "Your not lying?" i growled. "Sir, please back up. The medic needs room to make her stable to travel." he said.
I was forced to sit in the back of the ambulance. A medic was cleaning my busted knuckles that were bleeding. "Sir, i need to know what happened." a female cop approached and asked with a pad of paper and a pen. And so i told her, breaking down a little going back over everything.
I told her the story of my sister. How my uncle killed her and so many others. "FIona's mother and "father". Dont forget Leena, and now Fiona if they don't do something." I trudged on watching the medic check Fiona's eyes in a rush. "I guess that's what snapped me. The love of my whole life since i was 18 and in high school. i have been avoiding that man since then with her. I dragged her into all of this. Even though it is my fault i cannot loose her. She is the mother of my children. What do i tell them. Oh god!" i said letting my head fall into my hands, sobbing. "Sir, the Medic is doing what he can." she said.
In the slight distance i heard a 'she is responsive, lets move her' from someone. I fixed my head up as looked at them load her to a gurney. "I have to ride with them." i said standing. "No, she can't have anyone with her, she is too critical." the woman said. I tried to pass her but she called two male cops over to restrain me. I fought as hard as i could. They pushed me back to sit and a medic injected a needle in my arm. "Now stay calm, guy." One of the men muttered before i fell asleep.
~
My eyes cracked opened. They felt dry and sticky with sleep. Around me i was stuffed into a waiting room in a chair. I stretched myself, groaning with each muscle stretch. I ran my hand through my hair before slouching in my chair. Looking around i realized i was at the hospital. Weird because last thing before sleeping i remember was being at Leena's grave with Fiona.
Fiona.
I straightened in my seat as i felt my face pale with remembering the events at the cemetery. I watched a couple nurses pass me from my spot in a chair. I stood and hurried to the front desk. "I need to know where Fiona Sanders is." i demanded to the male nurse. "Relation to her?" he asked typing his computer. "Im her husband." I said through gritted teeth. "Room 43 but she just got out of hours of surgery and is resting so you cannot go in." he said. I nodded and took off to a hall way.
When i finally found a door marked 43 i stood there. Frozen as if buried in ice. I couldn't move. "Ryan?" someone said. I turned to see Shane walking towards me. "Where are Joey and Leena?" i asked broken from trace. "Getting ice cream with Max and Bobby." He said sitting in a chair by the door i stood in front of. "They won't let me in. How are Leena and Joey?" i asked. "Confused on why they are here." He answered.
By now i had been continuously walking between the 10ft of hallway that surrounded the door in front of Fiona's hospital room. It's been around five hours. Max and Shane had pulled over a couple more chairs so We could all sit. Leena and Joey were asleep in two of the chairs.
"When did you call him?" Bobby asked putting his hand on my shoulder so I stopped walking. "I called a few hours ago. They could be here anytime." i answered then continued to walked. "Sanders." a voice said. I turned to see what right now was, beside Fiona having the possibility of dying, the scariest thing ever. Dale and John McFall were walking towards me.
Dale was much aged. His gray hair took over his hair and wrinkles were in his face. and i could tell from the look on his face right now, they were bot from smiling.
Before i could say anything John had my shirt in his hands and had me slammed against the wall. I didn't fight back. I felt to drained. "What the hell happened?" John demanded. Always a very protective brother. "Jim. He, he, he..." i tried but when i really did try to talk about it my voce faltered and didn't come out. "Let him go." Dale said caught mg into his fist. John released me but i slouched against the wall. "Ryan, son. What happened?" Dale asked. "Jim shot her. I dot know how i didn't see him. I am stupid!" i yelled letting my head fall. Dale nodded but i saw past his hard out side . i could see that this kind event that included his daughter the way it did was killing him on the inside.
"Dale, sir." I said. "Yes?" he answered. i waved him to come closer and he did. "He is dead now. I hate that it took this long but i did it." i said with strength in voice. The strength was made with the hate in me. "Good." dale accepted patting my shoulder. Just then a doctor emerged from Fiona's room. "She will be fine. But she needs a lot of rest. The bullet missed her heart by 2 centimeters. And the only reason I'm talking to any of you this soon is because since she woke up an hour ago she has only been asking for a Ryan." he said looking at each of the men gathered around. "That's you." John coughed nudging me.
I took hold of the door handle and pushed the door. It was exactly like all of the other hospital rooms i had seen. "Ryan?" a semi-raspy voice said. My haze snapped to the bed. Fiona was laying there. Tubes on her arm so she was hooked up to the heart monitor. Her face was still a little pale. "Hey." i said in a hushed voice. "Where is--" i stopped her with a soft peck on her lips. "Don't have to worry about it. It's over." I said sitting in the chair next to the bed. "Good." she whispered.
(55 years later)
"And that's our story. Of your great grandmother and me. My Fiona was the best there ever was. We made it through a lot me and her." i sighed. "Tommy, Bella! Im here! you have a doctors appointment lets go!" A female said coming through the front door. "Kids, thank Papa and go get in the car." The blonde said to her two twins. "Thank you, Papa." Tommy and Bella hugged me and ran out.
"Hello Grandpa." Stephanie smiled hugging me. "Oh dear. I always have to look twice when i see you because you really are the splitting image of your Grandma Fiona." i smiled. "You say that every time i see you." she laughed. "Well it's true." i said and stood My back cracked an i gasped holding it. "Grandpa, maybe you should rest today and stay home." Stephanie frowned holding my arm. "Nope. I promised i would see her every day and badgumit i will keep that promise!" i said grabbing my cap and cane. "Okay. Be careful. I love to Gramps." Stephanie said and kissed my cheek leaving.
After she left i did my normal routine. Locking the door, waiting for the number 12 bus out side the retirement home. Then once is at next to Alvin, a man on the bus always when i am. I enjoyed my trip to the stop out side the cemetery. I thanked the bus driver who helps me down the steps. i slowly made my way to the right of the graves. When i came upon the one i did every other day i smiled sadly.
"Soon, baby, i can feel it." i smiled touching the head stone. 'Fiona Sanders. Wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. "My love will forever be yours, Ryan" ' was what it read. Fiona had requested to have that engraved into her head stone. When i go, i will have that but to Fiona. I have the spot next to her reserved.
"One day we will be reunited. Its been 7 years since you left. At first i was angry you left me so soon. But i didnt go. im sometimes glad because Tommy and Bella wouldn't know who you were. I tell them the story of us quite often. They really like it, Fiona." i spoke to the head stone. "Soon, baby, soon." i whispered touching the head stone.
THE END.
