K

He's back again.

I opened the curtains to reveal my students, happily playing in the schoolyard...

And that strange guy standing near his window again, watching.

My stomach clenched at the thought that he might be a pervert. He looked pretty young but youth doesn't make one a saint.

Plus he had those eyes. Large, watchful eyes that could either belong to an idiot or an evil mastermind.

The bell alerting the children to come back inside went off and the teachers blew their whistles in warning, rounding up all the kids at the door until every last one of them was in a line. I watched the suspicious stranger slowly emerge from his back door and enter his yard, probably pretending to do something so he didn't look suspicious, gawking at children.

I sat back in my chair and finished up my sandwich and chips, crumpling the wrapper and tossing it into the trash beside my desk.

Suddenly there was a knock at my door before it opened and my co-worker Sage walked in.

"Hey."

I nodded, picking up my pen to begin zooming through grading tests. Second grade schoolwork was a lot easier to get through than kindergartners, as they wrote a lot better and didn't doodle and scribble on everything.

"What are you doing? Stalking your man again?"

I glanced up at her, fixing my glasses. "Don't you have some kid's bloody nose to wipe or something?"

She chuckled. "Cute. But anyway I just came by to tell you that Angel's dad stopped by again looking for you."

I got goosenips at the very mention of that guy....and not the good kind. "I really don't wanna deal with him right now," I muttered.

"Too late."

We both glanced over at the door as the devil himself peered around it, flashing a dimple at me. I internally rolled my eyes as he entered, bowing in a gentlemanly manor to Sage before striding over and squatting beside me with a stupid smile on his face.

"What do you want, Namjoon?"

He started playing with my fingers and I snatched my hand away, frowning up at Sage.

"You see that? Sexual harassment. I have a witness."

Sage chuckled. "Is that even considered a sexual-"

"No, it's not. I checked," Namjoon stated smugly. I almost wanted to press the entire bottom of both of my size 8 1/2 Mary Janes directly into the center of his face and shove him away but I fought the urge and merely patted the back of his hand as it rested on my desk. His features slowly transformed into pure agony when I bent his finger back.

"It's still unwanted physical contact. Just because I'm at work doesn't mean I'm afraid to physically hurt you. I can break you."

I let go and he gave me a half-hearted smile. "Oooh, promise?"

"Do you have a reason to be here, aside from trying and failing to seduce me?"

He winked and stood up, lounging against my desk as he rested his right knee on top. "Actually my son asked me to come in, told me that I urgently needed to speak with you."

I stared up at him wearily, leaning back in my chair. "About what?"

"He wants to invite you to dinner."

No wonder Angel had been silently floating around my desk like a fly all morning...

"Ew!" I exclaimed. Sage swatted me gently with her clipboard and I glared up at her. "Is that even legal?"

She rolled her eyes. "Do you ever read the contracts, manuals or anything left in your mailbox downstairs?"

I shrugged, earning a smile from Namjoon. "Sometimes...when I'm looking for lawsuits for this creep body."

"So you admit to looking at my body?"

I shook my head at him. "It is a sad year indeed when perverts are allowed to use their offspring to find women." He chuckled and I tousled my short hair. "Doesn't matter, I have plans tonight anyway."

"Doing what?" Sage asked, shock evident in her tone.

I cut my eyes at her and Namjoon shook his head. "Doesn't have to be tonight."

I thought about it. "I wouldn't feel safe, is a dinner guest of my choosing optional?"

He glanced at Sage then shrugged. "Sure."

I nodded to myself. "When is it that he wanted me over?"

Sage gave me a look of complete shock and Namjoon looked...satisfied.

It tossed my nearly-digested lunch to see such a look on his face.

He went into his pocket and slapped a folded up piece of paper down on my desk, smiling when I saw the drawing on front.

"Angel made it for you."

"That's cute, I'm almost convinced he's an actual child at the moment," I said, observing the drawing of a house with a little red sun in the corner and flowers springing from the grass around a robin's egg colored house. I flipped it open and there was their address- like I didn't have that on hand at all times in case he messed up- and the time, date and what form of attire was appropriate.

"'Dress formally?' What-?"

Sage rolled her eyes. "How about not like you're coming to work but also not like you're lounging around at home with JiSoo."

I glared up at her then looked over at Namjoon, who looked like he had a question but I ignored it. "Okay, I guess."

He smiled and did one of those loud claps that irk my entire soul. "I just...thanks for accepting, Kay. It means a lot to us."

I shrugged and waved him off as he left, flinching slightly when Sage let out an insanely high-pitched laugh, head thrown back.

"What?"

She gave me a cheeky look. "You're not gonna go, are you?"

I shrugged. "Yes I am. I gave him my word."

"And what about that other guy you won't tell me anything about?"

I shrugged again, ignoring her as I stood up and finished off my juice box. "Time to go get the kids."

She opened her mouth and the alarm I had in the room to alert me of "five minutes till" rang, cutting her off. The two of us headed to the door and walked to the cafeteria area where the students were lined up and waiting for us. As I approached my class I made eye contact with Angel, who looked up from his conversation with one of his friends, Eddy, to wink and give me a thumbs up with playful eyes and obnoxious dimples.

Like father, like son.
